Raven Kingston was going to do it... She was finally going to leave that place.
It's the night before her wedding and she cracked. She couldn't take it anymore. She was done being controlled.
The aristocrat was in her wedding dress, she thought she might as well wear it once, it's not like she was going to get married again, or at all. Raven felt pretty actually, but that was not the point.
She took a tattered long brown cloak from one of the maids things, leaving one of her plush ones in exchange. She threw it over the poofy gown and took a heavy breath.
Raven grabbed the satchel and stuffed it full of what she could need for the next while and slung it over her shoulder. The noble looked down at her desk and spotted her mothers necklace siting on the wood. She picked it up carefully, she hadn't even touched it since she died. Kingston clipped it around her neck and sighed.
Stop stalling. Let's go... She reached under the bed and pulled out a rope made of bed sheets. She had taken them one by one out of the laundry room, hoping that the workers wouldn't notice. Raven tied one end to the bed frame and threw the other off the side of the balcony. She stepped outside and looked over the edge. Taking a deep breath of crisp night air, she closed her eyes for a moment.
You can do this... Just climb down... Her eyes snapped open. Kingston took one last look at her room that she's had since she was a child. The plush furniture and decorations, Raven didn't belong here anymore and she wanted out.
The woman whipped around and climbed over the side of the railing and down the make shift rope. She landed with a light thud and broke into a run. She was grateful she put on men's boots before she left.
Raven ran and didn't look back. Not at the manor, the gardens or her balcony. She just keep going, her large dress getting caught on branches and bushes, but she didn't care. She ran for the docks, it was the crack of dawn, the sun just coming over the horizon. All the sailors were getting ready to set sail.
The aristocrat stuck out like a sore thumb in this crowd, but no one seemed to be paying attention anyway. She saw the nearest ship, it was black with hints of gold and white. It looked like no ones aboard right now, so she snuck on deck and bellow. She found a hidden spot with the cargo, curled up in a ball of white fabric and drifted to sleep.

Raven must have been asleep for a while, because when she woke up, she could feel the ship rocking, indicating that they were moving.
There was a small whole in the side, so she looked through, it was a clear blue day, not a cloud in the sky.
"Well, well, well. Look what we got here!" Raven's blood ran cold, she slowly turned around.
A tall man was standing over her, he had brown chestnut hair and a short trimmed beard. He had a red bandana tied around his head and a scar running down his cheek.
"A lass in a wedding dress, eh?" He chuckled and pulled the woman to her feet by her throat.
"What's your name, Girly?" He asked and she coughed as he released her. The noble blood collapse to the floor on her knees.
"R-Raven Kingston!" She sputtered, backing away but hitting the side of the ship before she could get too far.
"Well, Miss Kingston. How old are you?" He asked. What's with all the questions?
"19..." She muttered, confused.
"What is a 19 year old doing on a pirate ship?" He smirked, sitting on one of the crates. Raven froze. "P-p-pirates?" She said, shocked.
"Welcome aboard The Black Bird, Miss Kingston..."
