Ryan's POV:
This morning I had made sure that I woke up early, telling the guys I had fed and taken care of Jen. I was the last one to leave, not seeing her since last night, naked and shaking on the torn up couch.
I felt empowered by what I did. Satisfied. She deserved it.
Currently the end of the day announcements are going through the loud speaker in my physics class. The principal's voice blabbers on. "Some of you girls think you can fit into the shorts you wore in fifth grade. But this is not the case. School dress code requires your shorts or skirts to go past your middle fingers when you hold your arms down your sides. I have a 30% off coupon to Kohl's. Come see me if you need it" Principal Chughtai says.
The class laughs at the principal's sense of humor, the one thing at school none of us minded.
He continues, "Okay. Now everyone please listen up and direct your attention off your work. This last announcement is really important. Unfortunately, two more students from our school have gone missing. Liam Blake and Jennifer Collins. If anyone has any information on the whereabouts of these students, please inform me or the police. Thank you."
The speaker goes silent and so does Mr. Stoppelmoor's class. The gauze hidden under my long sleeved button down itches around my bicep, but I refuse to scratch it.
The bell rings and everyone hurries out of the class like normal again.
I start to follow them but Mr. Stoppelmoor says, "Ryan, wait."
My stomach drops. Why is he making me wait behind everyone else?
I look at him and wait for his question.
Once everyone is out of the classroom and we are alone, he asks, "How was Jennifer on Wednesday, when she came by to your house?"
I quickly think about an answer. If I say she never showed up, then maybe he'll think I'm not part of this, because Jen would have gone missing before she arrived at my home.
"She never showed up" I declare.
Mr. Stoppelmoor raises his eyebrows. "Really? Then how did you get your homework done from that day?" he questions.
Shit. "Um, oh wait. For some stupid reason I was thinking you meant yesterday. Yeah she did show up on Wednesday. She seemed fine" I spit.
"Why would I have been talking about yesterday?" Stoppelmoor interrogates.
"I don't know. My brain's tired. It's been a long first week" I ramble.
Mr. Stoppelmoor still seems unsatisfied. "Okay Ryan, if you find out anything else about Jennifer or the Liam kid, you know what to do" he says.
"Right" I say, slowly starting to walk back towards the door.
When Mr. Stoppelmoor doesn't say anything else, I take that as my cue to leave.
I turn around and quickly start to walk outside of school.
The boys will probably beat me home, knowing that none of them had anything after school today. I have to warn them. What if the police come by looking for Jen?
I finally get to my car and take no time in starting it and rushing home. We have to move Jen, I don't know where yet, but we need to get her out of the house.
As I approach my street I nearly throw up when I see police cars lined up in front of my house, and even an ambulance. I spot all my friends being shoved into police cars and I see Jen being wheeled out of the house on a gurney.
A police officer turns around and looks directly through my windshield and into my eyes.
He points at me and shouts something.
My hand drops to the gear shift and I put it in reverse, stepping on the gas. Immediately I bump into something. I turn around and see it's a huge police SUV. I'm trapped. This is the end of it.
