While at dinner, Nina spoke about her time at high school. She told me so many things about this city and the people here. I wasn't surprised to hear about the cultural differences as I already did my research.

I told her about the scholarship and my journey to New York. She seemed surprised to know about my scholarship. She didn't expect me to be a straight A's student.

After dinner, we made plans to go out tomorrow. We would visit the famous Brooklyn church. Since we were both religious, we decided to start our little tour with the blessings of God.

For me, all Gods are the same as all religions teach us the same thing only! So temple or church; it doesn't matter.

"Be ready tomorrow at 10 AM sharp. I don't want to hear any excuses," Nina said and bid me goodnight.

"Okay, ma'am, goodnight." I smiled and carried on.

I pulled out my phone and sent a text to Roy asking about the exam.

After that, I entered in my room, lay down on my bed, closing my eyes and drifted to sleep.

*****

I woke up feeling fresh and at the sound of my alarm beeping. I extended my arms on my soft blue blanket and looked at the clock.

8 AM again? Huh.

To kill the next two hours, I logged onto Facebook. There were many notifications, mostly from people congratulating me for my admission.

Plan successful!

Don't get me wrong, I didn't want to brag. However, this was a sweet slap for those who thought me as a duffer. Whenever I'd told someone about my dream, they always laughed. No one actually understood me, except Mahi and my parents. So I wanted to show them that I had got what I wanted. There was no rocket science in this; you just had to work hard and be passionate about your dream.

I replied to some comments and suddenly, a message popped up in my message bar.

I opened it and couldn't believe who it was from-

The person whom I hate most.

My second reason for leaving everything behind back in Delhi.

My worst nightmare.

My eyes widened and my heartbeat accelerated. Feeling panicked, I immediately blocked that person without replying and logged out.

I couldn't let him ruin my life again!

I closed my eyes and took some deep breaths.

Wow, what a great start; thanks for spoiling my mood.
