~Jake~
Ash was always a mystery. He would smile but behind those bright shining eyes you could see something was wrong. No one knew his back story. No one knew how he had gotten here. Ash was my best friend. Few people in the village liked him. Myself, Jade and Ash were always together. Jade was disliked too. We are from a poor area. We get no help. She is rich. It's illegal to socialise with the upper class people see her as a snob. She bribed the guards in her area to let her leave. We don't have guards. We are thee poorest town or village so we get jack all. I like her but she sorta does rub it in people's faces that she has the biggest house with her sister, Molly. But the bond between Ash and myself is more than a friendship we both have the confused look. We met when he was 5 but he left four years later and never said why I only saw him again when he was 15, 8 years ago when I was 16. I was walking to the city to get some stuff it was quite far so I was pretty tired and distracted. So I didn't notice him until he was pretty close to me. And then I saw him. I froze was it him it's been so long but his face was so familiar. He stopped informs of me, he was thin and his face had a large cut on it.
"Jake?" He said sounding like his old self he laughed
I dropped my stuff and hugged him.
"It's me Ash." For a moment his arms stayed limp but he eventually threw them around me. Now I would do anything to see my best friend.

I woke up from a deep sleep when I heard a frantic banging on my door. I slowly walked over to it rubbing my eyes.
I checked my battery powered clock. It was 5:45am. I opened the door and there stood Ash in the dim light. Fully clothed with his hood up.
I just stared at him hoping it was a dream. Ash pushed me aside and walked in slamming to door behind him. I was to tired to protest.
"Ash what do you want?"
"I want your help."
I sat down and he did the same.
"Something had happened and I need to fix it. I'm tired of waiting for the day."
He sad quickly. Ash rarely slept I had stayed at his and he'd stay up all the time but he was never tired. And for the first time he seemed slightly tired.
"What day?" I said still delirious from the early awakening
"The day we are liberated from all this bull shit."
"Find come in" I sighed "but be quiet Lily is asleep."
He nodded.
He walked into my small house which was only slightly bigger than his. And sat on the two chairs by the table.
"We need to get an army together. Because that way the guards won't just shoot us all down. I've been into the Kaul. There is a lot of security. The will shoot I've seen it."
"You've seen everything." I said finding it hard to believe him.
"You know how I'm wanted for s few things?"
"More than a few but yeah"
"Well one of those things is running from the law. I've been in the because they accused my mother of cheating and marrying the lower class. Only one of those is true but the dragged us in there but just as we got to the wall the guard yelled "stay where you are!" We all spun around and stood there was a small kid dressed in only dull colours, she was one of us. She took a step forward and called
"Please sir my village is low on food."
And bang she was gone."
He said his eyes staring past me, he was frowning and looked like he was going to cry.
"Ash..." I said softly
He blocked snapping out of his day dream and looked at me.
"We need to somehow get a guard on our side. Get his gun and then somehow get clothes so we look like those rich fuckers. One will get a guards uniform. Roll in to the government buildings and kill that bitch of a leader. Then we are all liberated."
"It's not that easy Ash they will kill you."
"I know they will most likely kill me. But at least I will die free."
I sighed
"Do you want to go see the wall and see if there is a way to get into the Kaul or...?"
"Yeah we can go tomorrow."
I walked him to the door and as he was once again standing outside I said
"You know that im not definitely up for this."
"I know he said, but this time they have crossed the line."
I nodded I wasn't sure wether he was crying or it was the rain but either way he looked hurt.
He turned and began to walk away. I shut the door, checked on Lily and returned to bed. But for some reason I couldn't sleep and felt over come with worry.
