Part 7

Sunday, October 27th 2115, 7.07am

The next morning, Suzy and Eric awake early after sleeping in the DeLorean. Suzy is shivering.

SUZY

It's freezing. I hardly slept a wink. The heating is rubbish in this thing.

ERIC

Quit moaning. I gave you my jacket. How cold do you think I am?

SUZY

It's your fault we're in this predicament.

ERIC

Give it a couple of hours and I'm sure Scott will come back. He's probably crashed out somewhere. When he wakes up, he'll make his way here.

SUZY

Why didn't he come back last night?

ERIC

I'm sure he's okay.

Scott wakes up in the spare bed at the future McFlys' household. Scott groans and stretches as he slowly comes to his senses.

SCOTT

What day is it? Is it school today?

Scott remembers where he is and sits bolt upright.

SCOTT

I'm in the future!

He jumps out of bed and looks at the window.

SCOTT

I'm sure there were bars on those last night.

Scott heads down to the dining room. The future McFlys are having breakfast. An old man has joined them for breakfast.

MAUREEN

Ah, good morning Arnie, would you like something to eat?

SCOTT

Yes please.

JOHN

Arnie, take a seat at the table. My Grandfather is here for breakfast. He was travelling with me in the when you dropped in. He decided we should travel a different way yesterday. If we hadn't have gone that way, we would never have managed to save you. Grandpa Barty, this is Arnie.

Barty looks at Scott with extreme interest.

BARTY

Pleased to meet you. I'm glad you're okay.

Scott looks at Barty and his jaw drops.

SCOTT

H...hi there... You're Barty? Barty McFly?

BARTY

The one and only!

Scott stares uncontrollably at Barty. He can't believe he's staring at his own son!

BARTY

Hey there... Arnie isn't it. I called by to see if you were okay. You seemed in a bad way yesterday when you landed in my truck.

SCOTT

I'm fine, thanks. Anyway, thanks for yesterday, you saved my life.

BARTY

It's my pleasure, believe me. It's as if it was fate.

SCOTT

You could say that.
