A Dreamer’s Death
By: coffeeandstories/poems
A shadow kisses his frigid soul
Seizing his life; dragging his breath
Eating his scanty entity...whole
His fingers are numb; conscious of the threat
Nectar of confusion in his mind
A basket of burden in his heart
“Here it comes! It comes to cut the bind!”
“Silenced, at last! I am to ride its cart!”
Under the moonlight in an open sky
“Ready, Oh I am ready to see the light.”
The shrieking wind touches his eyes that cry
“With tranquillity you shall part away from my sight.”
A beam was painted on his somnolent face
“The years of zest will be just no memento of mirth.”
A joyful existence though yoke within a vague maze
“Scarcely I grasp, the further you leap away from birth.”
Crickets sang that solitary song
The hands of the clock struck to cease
And it extort his life with no prolong
Repose he laid and eternity... dreaming at ease.
