Rainy Days & Awkward Rides

It was finally last period and only seconds till the bell rang. Most of the time I'm usually the first to bolt out the door, but seeing I'm in no rush to get home, I took my time. Usually Celesta would want my help, but I think she'll handle things well, honestly I would probably just sit on the couch and watch her restlessly go from one end of the house to the other end, trying to make sure everything is perfect.

I was so busy with my thoughts, I hadn't realized everyone was already heading out towards the door. I packed up my stuff and also headed out the door. As I reached my locker, I decided to check my phone and saw I had a few messages.

Sorry!

Your dad and I can't pick you up today, hope you find a way back!

P.s Heard it's going to rain, hope you have an umbrella on you!

- Mom

Reading that, I clicked the next message.

I really hope you have a ride back, I'm so stressed with this stupid party!

Take the offer and go get a ride with Andrew! Srsly! ;)

- Celesta

Sighing, I grabbed my jacket and closed my locker. Sadly, I did not have an umbrella nor did I have legs the length of train tracks to run all the way home in time. I started to make my way out the door when I saw the time on the wall.

2:50pm

What? How can that be possible?! I quickly checked my watch time too.

2:35pm

The school needs to change their clocks because clearly they are old and worn out -- I then realized, my watch was the one that wasn't ticking or moving at all, it's been stuck on the same time this whole time which means ...

I quickly ran to the main entrance and saw that indeed the bus that was suppose to take me home had left. The next bus didn't come for another half and hour.

"URGH! This can not be happening!!" I yelled rather loudly. I could care less since everyone left, except for some teachers and well yeah, me.

"Ever heard of indoor voices? Since, you know, we're inside."

Of course, my history of bad luck sure seems to find a way of coming back and biting me in the ass. I turned around to find Andrew leaning against the pillar next to me.

"Ever try keeping your mouth shut? You should try it sometime," I said irritated at this stupid boy.

"Oh honey, one day you're going to be begging for me to stay, me and my mouth."

"Well honey, I can assure you today isn't that day, nor will it be tomorrow, or next week, or the next month, got it?"

He could sense the irritation and anger radiating off of me, and seemingly used it to fuel himself up with energy. He started walking towards me, while I took that as my cue to turn around and head outside, which him being a dog seemed to follow my exit.

"You know, the offer is still on the table to catch a ride with me," he said, trailing behind me.

"Yes, and I believe I said no," I replied.

"I hear it's going to rain."

"Yes, and the sky is blue."

"What does that have to do with anything?"

I turned around, extremely irritated and tired, forgetting how close he had been walking behind me. That being said, I think you can predict what happened next.
