"And in that moment, I swear we were infinite." ― Stephen Chbosky, The Perks of Being a Wallflower

I just love watching that movie, especially that quote. It can represent so many things; it's not just based on one meaning, their are many. Rolling over to the other side of my bed, I opened the drawer to my bed side stand and took out my journal.

My name is Xatia Hart. X-Zay-Sha
I know, of all the names my parents chose the most unique and the one no one can pronounce properly. I hate it yet I find it cool, I mean who else has a name starting with 'X' that's a girl? Anywho, aside from my unique name, my life isn't so thrilling. I live the life of a nerd. I may not have the thick rimmed glasses or the braces, but I'm a nerd as can be. Surprisingly, my life as a nerd isn't being bullied. I'm actually quite respected by everyone, even 'that' crew.

Why do I say it like that? Well, because that crew is the popular group throughout the whole school. You know the basics; the pretty girls, jocks, and cheerleaders. As much as I'm pleased they respect me, I still try to avoid them because they'll always cause trouble.

Why am I respected? Probably because I've helped maybe 97% of the group when they needed help. I do have many friends, shockingly not nerds actually. My friends and I have been friends since elementary, we have such a close bond.

I have a very caring family -- sarcasm intended -- but to be honest; I'm the only one who's disclosed. My older sister Bridget; is the star. I'm the bright one, and my little brother, Seth is the cutie. I have yet to figure out who my parents treasure, though I really don't care. All I know it isn't me, why? Because Bridget is gorgeous, nice and successful. Seth is still little and cute. Me? I'm just a bundle of joy! Eh, not really, but you get the point right?
Anywho, my mom's calling, so I'll write later.

"So, are you guys excited for school to begin?" My mom asked enthusiastically. My mom works at a law firm. I've visited her quite a few times, and all I can tell you it's so boring that I'd rather do my damn calculus homework. Honestly, I really do wonder where she gets all this energy from at times

"Yeah, I guess. It's only 6th grade mom." My little brother, Seth replied dully. He seemed to be scowling at his plate and constantly twirling around the broccoli.

"Hey, you're starting middle school! That's a big deal kiddo, also you better eat those vegetables, they aren't going to move themselves mister." My dad pitched in. My dad worked in a technology repair shop. For that, I am blessed. Do you have any idea how many times my computer has gone haywire on me?

"What about you, Xatia? Are you excited to start senior year?" My mom, again smiled ballistically. I swear that people would think she had Botox done or something. Grandma said she wasn't always so chipper.

"My last year of finally leaving this school and then spending 4 more years in another school? Well call me jolly!" I said with enthusiasm and a sarcastic smile.

My dad lightly chuckling at my remark, but quickly faded when my mom sent a scowl in his direction and gave me a frown. "Xatia, sarcasm isn't polite, nor is it necessary. You should try to be more enthusiastic like your sister, Bridget."

Bridget.

God, that name immediately casted a shadow over my head. Bridget is my perfect, Harvard student sister. She is currently working towards her bachelor's degree in psychology. My mom always seems to compare the two of us, which I don't understand. Everyone is suppose to be different from one another, also being just like her I would lose all my originality and be a fake. No thank you, there are already enough fakes in my school, no need to be another one of them.
