Kyra's POV:
All I could feel was the rush of the hallways, the blur of brunette hair and lanyards flinging around with thick, plastic ID cards. A girl with blonde hair whipped out in front of me, her backpack was red, her small frame was covered up with a brown vest jacket and gray sleeves. Her eyes were detailed with black eyeliner and mascara, her lips tinted with a light pink. I turned away, talking to my friend for a bit, and when I looked back, she wasn't there. I walked out to my bus and sat down on the worn blue seat.

Maya's POV:
"Let me out or I swear-"
"Let her out." Doctor Grey announced, finally giving up. I smiled and waited by the door. The doctor came over and opened the door, letting me go out before Calum could get out.
"That's not fair!" He whined.
"She didn't throw a flower vase at you, or choke you, now did she?" Doctor Grey smiled and walked out the door, humming. I placed my hand on the plastic wall and Calum breathed in and out slowly. He placed his hand in the air hesitantly, then finally pressing it against mine.
"I'm okay, I'm okay." He sighed and looked me in the eye. "I'm okay." I smiled at him and he smiled back, blowing a kiss at me. I waved and walked out of the small room and outside the glass doors that seperated me from the world I hadn't seen in a while. I pulled my car keys out of my pocket and hopped into my car, starting the ignition.

Luke's POV:
"Where the hell is she?" I'd called Maya 13 times now and texted her 23 times, but no reply. "Have you seen her?"
"Nope." Ashton said, popping the p. "Probably getting it on with Calum." He laughed.
"Shut up." I felt my phone vibrating and I looked, realizing it was an unknown number. I shook my head and declined it, not caring about that right now, only Maya.
"Chill, dude. She's probably somewhere busy doing something. She's fine." Michael put a hand on my shoulder and gave me a reassuring look. I nodded my head and sat down on the sofa.
"It just bothers me, because she always answers me." I sighed. My phone vibrated again and I pressed the decline button, because it was the same unknown number from before. It vibrated again, and this time I answered.
"What the hell do you want? Wrong number!" I was frustrated.
"Is this Luke Hemmings?"
"Oh, um, yeah."
"You need to come to the hospital right now." I heard screaming in the background and I hadn't recognized the voice. "Right now."
"O-Okay." I pressed the end button and stood up. "I have to go to the hospital."
-
"What was I called here for?" I walked to the receptionist's desk.
"Are you Luke Hemmings?"
"Yes."
"Right through here." I followed her into a small conference room, containing of a few chairs, a long table, and a tall doctor.
"Hello, Luke."
"Um, hey."
"How are you feeling?"
"Confused."
"Ah, yes. You're here for- someone."
"Yeah, I'd like to know who it is."
"Let me go see if they want to see you." He opened the door and walked out. A few minutes later he walked in again and motioned for me to follow him. I nodded my head and followed him out the door and down a long hallway. He stopped at a door and hovered his hand over the doorknob.
"Um, you may want to be prepared."
"Okay." I looked around, not sure how to prepare, until I heard the screaming. I walked into the room, and there she was, laying on the small hospital bed, blood dripping from the white sheets, her body looking frail, nurses poking needles everywhere they could, her face damaged, her arm snapped, but worst of all, part of her face wasn't there. Just a white piece of skull, nothing to cover it. The sight was horrific, tragic, it was the worst thing I'd ever seen. I was shocked at the sight. The screaming flooded my ears, and I felt myself go numb.
"No, no, no, no." I gasped, air escaping from my lungs. I didn't know how to breathe, how to think, how to do anything. Arms gripped around my shoulders and pulled me out of the small room. "I have to be with her!" I screamed. I tried to battle my way out of the grip, I kicked, I threw my fists at whatever I could.
"Luke." I heard a soft voice. I turned around, and saw her mom standing there. Relief spread through my body, and I hugged the small woman.
"Mrs. Gutierrez."
"How is she?"
"Don't go in there, its too much to handle."
"The nurses didn't tell me something."
"Yeah?"
"They just told me it was my daughter."
"Oh."
"Which one is it?"
"Let me check that." I walked back to the doctor and asked who it was. My mind went blank after he told me. I walked over to her mom, heart in my stomach.
"I-It was..."
"Who was it, Luke?"
"I-It was,
"Luke!"
"I'm sorry." I broke down, tears not stopping from streaming down my face.
"Luke, just tell me who it is!" She cried. I looked at her soft face and cried even more. I was shaking now, my knees were curled up to my chest. I started to rock back and forth, and I knew what this was.
"Luke, please."
"It was Kyra."
