SAVING THE MONSTER

Emily

"Where are you going?" Elena Gilbert, my sister, asked with an uncomfortable expression plastered on her face and her arms are crossed over her chest, while standing in the doorway of my room.

I rolled my eyes, this is the tenth time she asked me that question today.

"I already told you, it's just one of my classmates' house." I answered while pulling my hair up into a messy bun. I picked up my bag, sketchpad, phone and car... wait, where are the keys?

I walked over to the table beside my bed to search for my keys.

"Damon has it." I heard her say.

I turned to look at her. I raised a brow.

"What?"

"Damon has your keys. He'll be the one escorting you to whereever you're going."

Damon has my keys?

He has my keys?!

"Wait. What?" I asked again. Just to make sure I was not just hearing things.

"Damon will be with you wherever you go."

"What?!" I looked at her in disbelief. "Look, I already said where I was going. It's not like something's gonna happen to me."

She sighed and looked down.

"We have to make sure that nothing goes wrong." I heard her say.

"What could possibly wrong?" I snapped. "Is there something I should know about?" I asked as I put both hands on my hips.

"No....No. Absolutely, there's nothin-It's nothing." She stammered. Just what the heck is really with this girl?

I huffed in frustration. "Just give me my car keys." I told her while extending my hand to her.

"I told you,it's with Damon."she told me.

"And I don't believe you."

She bit her lip and looked down. I raised a brow. It's with her alright. I sighed, she's totally wasting my time.

"Fine. Then, i'll walk." I told her before walking out of my room and passed her.

But just as I reached the front door, I heard Elena call my name. I faced her. She rushed towards me and showed me my keys.

"Okay. Fine. I lied." She told me in defeat.

I smirked. "I know."

She rolled her eyes before handing me the keys. "I still think you should stay at home instead.." she started.
