Chapter 6

The ride home is starting off a little quiet. I wonder why he wouldn't just let Nikki take me home. After about 10 awkward minutes I decide to finally break the silence. "So british huh? Why doesn't Jay have a british accent?"

"Before I was born my parents moved to England. I was born and raised there. When I was about 16 we came over here for a family reunion, Im 18 now. That's when the hunters took out our family. They gathered about 100 people and fought off everyone. It's really screwed up 'cause not everyone was a wolf. Anyway, Jay and I escaped through the celler and ran into the woods. Jay was about 14 when this all happened, now he's 16. Jay's mum and dad owned the house we live in now. Nikki lost her parents when she was about 16, Jay and her were dating already so she came to live with us. Nikki is 17 now. Nikki and Jay took his parents room and I took Jay's room."

"What room did I take?"

He looked at me with a distressed face then turned back to the road. He sighed and answer my question. "You took Jay's little brother's room. He was 10 when he died and he had just become a wolf. See when a wolf is genetic they don't go through the wolf-ling stage, only when you get bit do you become a wolf-ling. Nikki was a wolf-ling, she begged Jay to turn her into a wolf so they could be together without him hurting her. That's why she knows so much about controlling it."

Great subject to talk about Skyler, pick the thing that hurts the most. Don't I know how to pick 'em? "Oh Im so sorry, I didn't mean to.."

"It's alright just try not to mention it to Jay please. It's a painful subject for him."

The rest of the car ride was silent except for the faint sound of the radio. I tried not to sing but when I heard Can't Be Friends by Trey Songz I couldn't help myself. At first I was humming with the beat then Joshua heard me. He chuckled before turning it up and singing "And it ain't no way in hell that I can be just friends with you." he's not the best singer but his accent just made it cute.

I laughed and started to sing with him. "And I wish we never did it. And I wish we never loved it. And I wish I never fell so deep in love with you and now it ain't no way we can be friends."

We sang a couple songs all the way to my house, laughing along the way. Being with him is so easy, it comes almost naturally. Now who am I supposed to pick? The dark and mysterious bad ass or the sweet and straight forward cutie?

They're both almost perfect for me, both my type, both hunks, and basically HOT!

"This is my house. Thank you so much for bringing me home, how could I ever repay you?" I looked out the window at my house making sure no one's watching us.

He turned off the car and turned towards me. "It was my pleasure and no problem at all. Time alone with you is all the payment I need." he leaned close to me and laid a short, sweet kiss on my cheek. "Until next time. And Im pretty sure I'll be seeing you soon."

"Yes you will." I started to get out the car when I felt his hand grab mine I looked at him and yet again all I saw was pure innocence. He did the cliche movie thing and moved a stray hair from my face, pulled his hand down to my cheek and laid a sweet kiss on my lips.

It was better than any other kiss I'd ever had. I was passionate but short. Sweet but rough. Needed yet wanted. It was perfect.

****

I woke up on a beautiful saturday and remembered Im grounded for two weeks. You stay out pass curfew once and its like you committed a million crimes.

Mom and dad are going out for breakfast and aren't coming back until 3. I get out of bed and look at my clock. It's 10 now so if I hurry I'll be done taking a shower and eating at about 11. Then I can call Nikki and get some training in.

I rushed in the shower and spent about 5 minutes just standing there, thinking about these two guys. I have no idea what I'm going to do. I don't want to date 2 guys, I just want one. The one that's perfect.

I got out the shower at 10:20. I walked over to my vanity and looked at my reflection. I don't want my normal curled hair. I want to look different for once. I plug in my straightener as I brush my long hair and wait for it to heat up.

I finish straightening at around 10:40. Im making good time so I run downstairs to make me some breakfast. I make bacon and eggs with cheese on it. I eat my food fast so I can rush over to their house. As soon as Im done eating I run outside.

I hopped on my bike and called Nikki."Hey Nikki, Im grounded and this is probably the only time I could train in two weeks. You mind if I come over?"

"Of course not. We could train until your parents get home at three."

"How'd you know they.." I stop myself mid-sentence. "Oh yeah you can read minds. I guess I was thinking about it."

"Yeah you were and many other things I tried not to listen to."

Oh shit, that means she might have heard when I was thinking about the guys in the shower. "Oh yeah. So I'll see you in a bit, kay, bye."

I started my bike up and back out my drive way quickly.

A/N: I know this chapter is really short but I've had major writers block.

So who do you think Skyler's gonna pick? Who do you think is better? Who do you want her to be with?

Let me know what you think. Comment and vote if you think the book deserves it.

Sincerely,
