I ran from the car and up to Di's door. I knocked rapidly and after a while the door opened. There stood a very tired-looking Mrs. Frank with curlers in her hair.
"Oh hello, dear!" She said, cheering up. "Diana is so excited to be coming! You're going to enjoy it so much in - What do you kids call it?" She paused. "Large orange!" I laughed.
"Apple, Mrs. Frank. The Big Apple." She nodded and we stood there for a few moments in silence.
"I'll just go check where Diana's got to. She's probably doing her make-up or something; you know, girly stuff." I smiled as she walked into the kitchen. There I stood awkwardly for the next few minutes whilst I glanced back at the car to see Brittany smiling at me.
Suddenly Di appeared at the door with her suitcase stood next to her.
"So, Diana," I said, whilst she rolled her eyes at me. "Are you ready to go?" She nodded and we linked arms.
"Next stop," Di called. "Mick's house!"****************************
Me and Di chatted on in the car the entire way to Mick's house about how excited we were to be going and where we were going to visit and what monuments we were gonna take selfies with.
When we arrived at Mick's house, we hopped out of the car and rang the doorbell. He answered the door almost straight away and made a high-pitched that I had never heard him make before. He gave us both a quick hug and shouted goodbye to his parents. We ran into the car and started freaking out about how excited we were.
Suddenly 'You're never fully dressed without a smile' by Sia came on the radio. We all started singing along and a realisation hit me.
I'm going to meet my mom.
