Okay. Second last chapter. I am getting really annoyed with the amount of chapters in my drafts and yeah

I watched Vic climb onto the tour bus, sunglasses covering his eyes. It was seven in the morning, early enough for the sun to be rising. He flinched at the brightness as he turned back to me, blowing a kiss in my direction. I mimicked his actions, a sad smile gracing my features.

He was wearing his blue button down again, this time changing from shorts to jeans. His Vans covered his feet and a beanie was jammed on his head. Casey, his drum tech, shouted at him to hurry up and get on board; they were meant to have left five minutes ago. I readjusted the sunnies on my face and waved them off. They were due to be back in two months. I sighed. Time to start the non stop Skyping, calling and texting. I wrapped my dressing gown around me more tightly and shuffled back inside. I made myself another cup of coffee to assist with getting rid of the insistent thumping in my head and swallowed a few Panadol.

'I swear, I'm going to kill Evie.' I muttered, leaning back on the lounge. As I did, the pillows next to me moved, revealing my secret hiding place. Five tickets were sealed in an envelop, bearing the band name Pierce the Veil. It was for their show in Los Angeles tonight. Hopefully Vic hadn't found them and he would be surprised when I turned up at the venue. I picked up the tickets and looked at them. Two months was a long time. But it was also my deadline. I wanted to have the wedding organised by then, so that we could spend the next two weeks Vic had off in a honeymoon phase. I was thinking of flying overseas or maybe taking a cruise, but that seemed too cliché. Plus, I didn't have a huge budget. While I had room to splurge on some things, I would have to keep a tight reign on others.

I sipped at my coffee, thoughts swirling in my head. I sighed and tapped the side of the mug, closing my eyes and tipping my head back to the ceiling. My phone started buzzing on the coffee table, interrupting peaceful silence that had surrounded me. A few seconds later and my ringtone cut through the air. I groaned and picked it up.

'Who's this?' I asked, answering the call.

'Hello to you too. It's Evie, by the way.' Evie's voice flew down the line, seemingly annoyed.

'Hi Evie.' I replied, tracing the rim of my drink. 'What do you want?'

'Just checking on your's and Vic's hangovers.' She replied. I could hear the smile in her tone.

'I'm fine, actually. Vic's suffering. He definitely got white girl wasted last night.' I said, laughing softly. 'How's your own?'

I heard Evie scoff, followed by a short laugh. 'Darling, I was shoving drinks down your throat, not mine. I was lucky if I had another glass of wine. What's your plan for the day?'

'Depends. Are you free to come over?'

'Depends. What would we be doing?'

'Wedding preparations.' I replied. I waited for her answer, but instead heard a consistent beep beep beep. I put my phone down, shaking my head, and had the rest of my coffee, getting up and putting the kettle back on. I made a tea, and got myself some toast. I slathered it with jam and heard a loud banging on the door. I rested my elbows on the blue kitchen counter and stuck my hip out to the side. Evie skidded into the kitchen a few seconds later, hair unbrushed and no bra on. I knew this because she was holding hers in her hand, her car keys in the other.

'Hi Kellin, excuse me for one moment.' She said, rushing into the spare room. She came out about a minute later, her bra no longer dangling from her fingertips.

'Morning Evie.' I greeted her, gesturing in front of me. 'Breakfast is served.' She came over to the kitchen bench and leaned over it, placing a kiss on my cheek. She grabbed a piece of toast and stuck it in her mouth, taking a generous mouthful. She chewed and swallowed.
