"Text me if you get away from your boyfriend long enough to hang out Amelia!" Tyler called out from behind me.

"I can't stand one more second with his ass." Wes said as he turned around back to Goliath. I forgot about him.

"Wes we forgot dog food." I whispered quietly.

"And it's all your fault. If you didn't flirt with that piece of shit than we would have dog food in our cart right now." He said trying to suppress his anger. I winced. I hate cuss words.

His hand was so tight around mine that his fingers were clawing into my skin.

Wes went to check out and payed for his dog treats.

He walked back to the car stiff and angry.

I was walking behind him with Goliath on his leash.
I put Goliath in the back of Wes Cadillac Escalade and jumped into the passenger seat. Halfway home Wes decided to break the awkward silence.

"Amelia, what did you agree to when you signed the contract." He asked.

"Umm.. To be your wife?" I said.

"You agreed to act in love with me when we were in public." He said with his cool anger.

"I know." I said, trying to not act fazed.

"Then what the hell was that!" He yelled slamming his fist against the wheel.

"You can't blame me! Ive had a crush on Tyler before I even met you!" I stated so boldly that I surprised myself, "Infact, I should be mad at you! Your ruined my only chance with Tyler!" I added, caught in the heat of the moment.

"You didn't have a chance with him!" He yelled.

With that I lost all momentum I had from arguing. I already knew I wasn't the best looking, and my dating pool was limited, But to hear on of the most attractive guys to walk to earth say it out loud really impacted my self esteem.

I tried to not let his words get to me, but fueled by anger and hurt I couldn't hold back.

"Why are you so despicable? You are by far the angriest, most stuck up, horrendous human being I have ever met!No wonder you begged me agree to this! I bet you scared away every other girl who even came close to you!"
I yelled at him.

Wasn't I just the smartest person.

He ground his teeth together. He pulled over on the side of the road in a random neighborhood.

He turned around to face me.

"Say that again. I dare you."

"You heard me the first time!" I yelled.

He seemed stunned. I'm sure no one had ever stood up to him before, or he was just surprised to get this much of a reaction out of me.

"Yeah? Well at least I can respect the rules of a fucking contract I sign and not look at every guy I see like I want to fuck them in the middle of the dog food aisle when I'm supposed to have a boyfriend. You can only look at me like that!" He spat back, inching his face closer with every word. Right after he said it he looked taken back, like he couldn't believe what had just came out of his own mouth. Luckily for him, I couldn't believe it either.

"Excuse me?? I did not look at Tyler like that! And we are only pretend dating, Wesley." I yelled coming in close to his face.

"Yes, pretend dating for a salary. Don't forget I'm paying you for all of this. So you better start acting right, and treating me like your boyfriend in public, even if it's just pretend." He said, inching his face closer.
