My years at Hogwarts drag on and I sit in my office and teach student after student year after year. Sometimes I lose hope but then I realize that this is my life now. I don't have anywhere else to go, I don't have anything else to do. No one will ever be able to replace Harriette no matter how long or hard I look.
So I just keep going, the thought of getting Eleonora back always in my head. I keep a picture of her and Harriette in a pocket of my robes with me every day. I've memorized every little part of the picture by now, but I still find myself looking at it whenever I miss them.
For my first several years at Hogwarts, nothing particularly interesting happened. There were of course the Weasley twins, among others, who simply could not stop causing havoc, but that was the most exciting thing to happen. But then one year came a particular girl. She caught my eye from the first time I laid eyes on her during the Sorting Ceremony.
Her name was Hermione Granger.
She had bushy brown hair, brown eyes, and abnormally large front teeth.
Hermione Granger was no ordinary student. She studied harder than anyone else at Hogwarts, just like Harriette had. She didn't have any friends and was an outsider in general.
Yet it hurt me to watch her do anything. Every time she would raise her hand on class I would ignore her, ignore the memories. I would always put off grading her homework and tests. I hated anything that had to do with her.
She reminded me too much of my past with Harriette and what will be my future with Eleonora.
