He goes into a state of doubt.
not 100 percent in his resolve,
he trudges on,
through the weather
and the elements,
he braves the brimstone studded stares,
refreshed by wind in his hair,
he makes it to the city
inquiring about a rumored opportunity,
something everyone talks about
but no one sees,
it is something of a political siren song,
“ Change is key...Job security is key...Conformity is key.”
he develops empathy,
no longer thinking
“me...me... me.”
This is the stage where he is happy,
content with the world within his reach,
ready to bridge the gap,
experience the roaring clap of a thunderous crowd
no longer hiding in resentment’s cloud
something supernatural happens
when the man sees the glossy eyes
of his newborn baby,
he names it a generic name,
one that blends well into the pool of commonality
this is when life shifts from adventure and
the man is tied down by the forces
of love,
of age,
and of a somewhat proportional emotion,
a reaction between social and family life,
where youthful exuberance is silenced,
where ignorance and knowledge never
reach equilibrium
where the dream
that was once kindled
by the greatness of a word,
the dream that
cut
through
the
diamond brush of your Amazonian struggle,
the one that made Herculean attempts at freedom,
the one that timidly swept it all under the rug
scrubbed away the sorrow from
tarnished floors,
until its ghostly hands finally disappeared
the one that made acquaintances with fantasy
waiting for a knight in shining armour
to follow his dream
as well
It was the same dream that stitched together your world,
crocheting the problems into braided ropes,
lassoing the sound,
the beauty and uncertainty,
