I was renting a foyer in the high school, and there was only one room left , and to my luck it was empty, that means I was not going to share a room with anybody.
It's been a week since I knew about my parent's trip, and today was the night when they'll fly away and I will pick my stuff and things and live in this room.
I didn't hate living in this room; it was clean and pretty, but not so clean so I have to clean her more when I'll get there. The walls had caramel walls and the floor was wooden. It has two single beds even though there's no one to be sharing the room with.
I walked out satisfied from the room and drove to the guitar class.
This was the day when Mr. Shreidth will announce to us the one who had the High grades and will be performing in the concert. I was praying to God that it would be me even though I know that I definitely have the best grades. But something inside of me was worried and nervous.
"All of you were waiting for this day..." Mr. Shreidth began talking putting his eyeglasses on. "Because this is the day that I'll say the name of the student who will perform in the concert. And I must tell my congratulations and proud for the one who won. I'm so happy with his result."
His? Did he just say 'his'? That means the one who won is not a girl? That means not me?
"Congratulations Dylan Shroof." what? No... There's something wrong. Please God, why... Why not me?
Why this bastard guy suddenly came into my life and ruined it? Is God punishing me for something I did so he brought him?
I felt so sad and stupid. I was all the days happy because I'll get the chance to perform in front a lot of people, I had this dream going in my mind from the day Mr. Shreidth announced about the concert but now everything's fading? My dreams have been shattered in front of my eyes and I couldn't do anything about it.
As soon as the class ended I hurried to go out of the classroom, I wanted a time with myself, for myself. But a sound called my name and I stopped in my steps. Can't I just leave and find some piece for myself?
I turned around and looked at the speaker.
"Kiara... You surprised me, a lot. I was expecting you to win, not a new guy. You were always the best student in my class, why this time you aren't?" Mr. Shreidth said and I saw a sad smile on his face, like he was sad by the results, like he wanted me to win.
I looked down at the ground sadly and tried hard to fight the tears from falling. I couldn't cry in front of everyone like a kid who lost his toy. I don't want them to pity me.
"I... I don't know. I tried my best. And... And I was really hoping that I would win. I wanted this." I said didn't looking up, afraid that the tears will just come down. Mr. Shreidth always meant to me like a friend more than a teacher, he gets me a lot and was always there to help me get through my problems.
He placed his hands on my cheeks forcing me to pull up my face, he looked at me with sad eyes and said "I know that you were since forever dreaming about the day when you will perform in front of hundreds of people, but you know there's ups and downs in life before you could touch your dreams. You will have your dream come true sooner or later." he rubbed my cheek with my thumb and wiped the tears that vigorously fell.
He gave me a small hug before he left. I wiped my tears with the sleeves of my sweater and ready to walk out.
As I made the first step out the door, a felt a grip around my wrist. I turned my head to see who grabbed my wrist. And to my surprise, the most one that I hate was standing in front of me.
