"You are such a bad driver," Stevie insisted for the third time as Ally was finally pulling up in front of Bria's house.
"You're crazy," Ally insisted. "I'm a great driver."
"Don't even pretend," Stevie insisted.
"You're alive, aren't you?" Ally demanded, though her voice was playful. "And don't blame LA traffic on my driving. Come on."
Stevie followed Ally suit as she began to get out of the car, and she was fighting the huge grin that wanted to spread across her face. There as a point where she had to hide the fact that she felt giggly and excited from being around Ally. At first, she'd just been nervous, but she honestly couldn't help that now she was definitely crushing on the girl. How couldn't she anyway? She was so gorgeous and funny, not to mention super cute.
They were at Bria's door, and Ally knocked lightly on the door. The door swung open to reveal one of the girls that Stevie had seen with Ally before, and one of the two girls who had intercepted them in the parking lot earlier. Either Shannon or Cammie, Stevie wasn't sure.
"Look at you showing up on time, Ally!" the girl exclaimed, grabbing Ally in a side hug. "And who's this?"
"Stevie, she's new here and I was helping her with her filmography project. Figured she could tag along," Ally answered, hoping that her cheeks weren't pink.
"Nice to meet you, Stevie! I'm Cammie!" Cammie extended her hand to Stevie, who shook it with a smile on her face.
"You too," she returned.
"Well, come on in," Cammie said, and as Stevie slipped inside first, Ally and Cammie made eye contact. Ally rolled her eyes at the blonde and shook her head, before following Stevie inside, and Cammie closed the door behind them.
In the living room that Stevie was led to by Ally and Cammie, who had started up some chatter about something, Bria and Shannon introduced themselves to her. Obviously, Stevie already knew Chrissy, so no introduction was needed there. Since then, a loud conversation about something had begun, and Stevie found herself fitting in very well, jumping in when she had things to contribute to the discussion.
It felt almost like magic how well she fit in with this group of girls – who she presumed were all lesbians, or at least queer, like herself, though she had no proof that Ally was queer at all. If she wasn't, though, Stevie would be incredibly surprised. She only seemed to hang out with lesbians, and if Stevie was being honest, she had already gotten the gay vibe from her anyway.
About an hour after being there, the original string of conversations began to slow down, which Stevie assumed was about when they would start watching Netflix, or, from what Ally said, start making out.Not Stevie and Ally, of course, but the two couples.
Just when they were about to decide what to watch, Shannon's phone started ringing and she grabbed it. "Oh, it's Katie."
Ally's expression immediately steeled over – she could feel it –and she knew that Stevie noticed. "Why the fuck is she calling you?"
"I don't know," Shannon stated, only to answer the phone call."Hello? No, I don't have your blue t-shirt, why would I have it?It's not like I'm your ex. No, I don't think she has it either."There was a longer pause, and Ally found herself gritting her teeth. Her breakup with Katie still felt incredibly messy for some reason –Katie could have handled it much better, with more consideration for Ally's feelings – but Katie was a bitch. There was no lie in that statement. "What makes you assume she's here... ? No we don't..."
