This chapter, as in the title chapter, is the lead up to a longer chapter, but I really wanted to get something up today. XD I'm not going to lie, this is not my best writing. Compared to what I usually write on Fanfiction's site, this is actually kinda sloppy. But I'm writing this mostly to get myself back into writing, because I've been slacking a bit on FF. But anyway :)

Friday came around somehow incredibly quickly. It actually surprised Ally when she turned off her phone alarm Friday morning, and saw what day it was.
Monday had been the weirdest day, since Ally had still not really gotten used to acting normal around Stevie. Especially in filmography that day, when Stevie's video had gone up as the second one to be shown, and Ally realized that one of her clips was one that Ally had secretly filmed. If she was being honest, she slightly blushed in the dark room as they watched it.
Tuesday was less weird by far, because Ally had given herself an intense pep talk about how to act around Stevie. It had all sort of fallen apart in seventh period, though, when her video played and she blushed just from knowing that Stevie was watching it. She had also spent an incredible amount of time blushing later in the day, when Stevie had texted her again for the first time since Sunday. It wasn't even like they were flirting or anything, just texting her made Ally blush. She was that awkward.
Wednesday was considerably smoother, and by Thursday, Ally felt like she had the act of controlling her crush down. For one, she was getting better at not letting her eyes linger for too long on Stevie... if too long was five minutes, that is. She was also doing her best to talk a lot more like she did to anyone else.
More than once, though, she tried to figure out if Stevie was maybe crushing on her at the same time. Unfortunately, Ally wasn't very good at reading into people's feelings, and she just hoped that if Stevie did like her back, she would eventually come out and say it.
Friday morning, though, when Ally's eyes widened at the day of the week, she then proceeded to nearly have a heart attack when she realized that she was fifteen minutes late. She spent the morning rushing, and by the time she got to school, she was actually only about five minutes later than normal – which technically meant that she was still early to school.
As she approached her usual spot with her friends, she saw that Stevie was already there. Generally, Ally would get there a few minutes before her.
"Nice of you to join us," Cammie teased, raising her eyebrows at Ally as she arrived.
"I woke up late," Ally grumbled, crossing her arms over her chest.
"On the bright side," Stevie piped up, "it's Friday!"
"She makes a good point," Cammie agreed, smiling. "Ah, I love weekends."
Suddenly, the bell rang out through the courtyard, signifying the dismissal to first period. "I'll see you guys at lunch!" Stevie said, smiling at Ally, and then she went off toward her class. Cammie and Shannon shared a quick goodbye kiss, and then Shannon and Ally headed off.
"So, have you told Stevie that you like her yet?" Shannon asked, raising her eyebrows knowingly.
"Shut up," Ally muttered.
Shannon rolled her eyes. "What? It's a perfectly valid question. It's just really obvious, at least to me and Cammie, that you like her, and I think that you two would look so cute together."
"Well, duh," Ally replied, before realizing that she had actually said that out loud and she clamped her mouth shut. Shannon raised an eyebrow at her. "Give me a break, I'm tired."
"I didn't say anything," Shannon said, laughing lightly. They came to the part of the school where they had to split up to get to their classes, and Shannon gave her a gentle smile. "Just think about talking to Stevie."
"Yeah, sure," Ally agreed briefly, giving Shannon a half wave and then heading off to her class.
And Ally did think about talking to Stevie. In fact, she played the same conversation that she did actually want to have in her head over and over, making up different endings to it every time. The bad ones were the ones she hated, obviously, and by lunch time, she knew that she wasn't going to be ready to say anything to Stevie. And in her defense, they had only known each other for a week.
Ally sat down at her lunch table and began to open her packed lunch. She never bought lunch at school because it never didn't taste like shit. Cammie and Shannon joined her after a couple of minutes, though they were talking animatedly between each other about some topic or another. Ally tried to pay attention to what it was, hoping that she could join in, but then she saw Stevie approaching them out of the corner of her eye, and she froze internally. She tore her eyes away from the brunette and looked back at her friends, trying her hardest to pretend like she wasn't keeping track of Stevie's movements from her peripheral vision.
Only when Stevie was in the process of seating herself did Ally finally look at her again, unable to not smile. "Hey," she greeted.
"Hey," Stevie replied, smiling that one smile that always made Ally smile too. Cammie and Shannon were still talking about something, but Ally didn't care, because she had Stevie to occupy her now. And despite her nerves about it, that was still preferred. "How has your day been?"
"Kind of thrown off since I woke up late this morning," Ally answered, being truthful and yet not mentioning the fact that thinking about her all day had also contributed to that.
"Aw, poor you, got to sleep in and still made it to school early." Stevie raised her eyebrows, the sarcasm in her voice clearly evident. Ally pouted and took a bite of her food. Stevie rolled her eyes, a smile still on her face. "Are you busy after school?"
Ally's heart jumped in her chest for a moment. "Not really, why?"
"Oh," Stevie said, sounding as though she thought that Ally would've actually been busy, "I was wondering if I could run some filmography stuff by you..."
Ally found her head nodding without her permission, but she knew that she would've said yes anyway. "Yeah, sure. Right after school, at your place?"
"Yeah," Stevie answered, smiling a shy smile.
"Definitely, I'll meet you there," Ally agreed, again, grinning. She hoped that it didn't look too obvious and dorky but... well, what could she say?
After all, she was hanging out with Stevie later.
