Leah's P.O.V
"Harry come on, we need to leave." I said putting on my shoes.
"Why? Where are we going?" He asked not taking his eyes off the screen. One thing I've learned from living with him is that he never looks away when a football game is on.
"Did you forget already?" I asked him and he just raised an eyebrow. "Harry, it's the six-month ultrasound today! The last one before the baby's birth!"
"Was that today?!"
"Yes, it is." I replied. "So hurry up, we gotta go." I said.
"But it's an important game.." He complained. "Can't you just re-schedule the appointment? I'm sure our doctor is free tomorrow."
"Are you saying that this football game is more important than checking if your baby is okay?" I asked.
"No, that's now what I meant. I just really wanna watch this game. I've been waiting for this all month!" He said. "I really want to come, but I did come to the last one, didn't I? Does it matter if I skip this one?"
"Fine, stay here. I can go by myself."
I grabbed my phone and left the house without another word from either me or Harry. I was mad at him for missing out on the last ultrasound, I really was. I just don't understand why he would rather watch football than make sure his own child is doing alright.
Since I didn't wanna go alone to the ultrasound, I drove to my dad's place to ask if Wyatt wanted to come. He once mentioned to me that he wanted to know what usually happened on an ultrasound. Therefore inviting him would be a great idea.
I arrived at my dad's house, walked up to the door and knocked on it. The door was soon opened by my dad.
"Oh, hey Leah!" He said smiling.
"Hi dad." I replied. "Listen, I have an ultrasound in fifteen minutes and Harry couldn't come, so I was wondering if I could take Wyatt with me?"
"Yes, I'll go get him." He said.
He walked upstairs into Wyatt's room, and Wyatt instantly came out of his room. He was smiling from ear to ear as his eyes landed on me.
"Are we going to see your baby?" He asked eagerly. "Like, on a screen?"
"Yes, we are." I replied. "Say bye to dad and we'll go."
"Bye, daddy!" Wyatt shouted before running out of the house.
I closed the front door before following Wyatt to my car. He got into the backseat and I sat down in the driver seat.
"Is your baby a boy or a girl?" Wyatt asked.
"I don't know. Harry and I have decided to wait until he or she is born to find out." I replied. "What do you think it is?"
"I think it's a girl because you're a girl. And the baby is inside you so it's gotta be a girl. If it's a boy then it's just weird." He said making me laugh.
"Wyatt, you were inside a girl too. You don't seriously think dad was the one pregnant with you, right?"
"What? I thought daddy was the one pregnant with me. Because if he wasn't, then who was? He said mommy was dead when I was born, so how can I even be born then?" He asked.
"Let's not talk about this right now, Wyatt." I replied and he nodded.
We arrived at the hospital and I parked the car outside in the parking lot. I gave Wyatt a piggy back ride into the building.
We waited for ten minutes before a doctor finally came into the room and called up my name.
"Ms. Adams and Mr. Styles?" He said.
I grabbed Wyatt's arm and walked towards the doctor.
"Harry won't be joining us today." I told the doctor and he nodded writing something down.
"And is this your son?" He asked.
"No, this is my little brother. I invited him to come with me since Harry couldn't be here." I answered.
"Oh, alright." He replied. "Now let's go have a look at your baby, yeah?"
We followed the doctor into a room a little longer down the hall. In the middle of the room was an examination table next to a big screen.
"Will we see the baby on that?" Wyatt asked pointing at the big screen.
"Yes, we will." I replied. "You excited to see your little niece or nephew?" I asked and he nodded quickly. I shot him a smile.
"Okay Leah, if you could lay down on the examination please." Dr. Johns said.
I did as told and laid down, pulling my shirt up just above my baby bump.
"How can we see the baby?" Wyatt asked Dr. Johns.
"Well, first I'm just gonna put this gel on your sister's tummy and swipe a little wand around on it, and then we'll get a picture of the baby." Dr. Johns explained to him.
"A wand? Just like Harry Potter's wand?" Wyatt asked smiling.
"If you want it to be. Just use your imagination, kid." Dr. Johns replied and smiled back at him. "Now let's see if your sister's baby is healthy, alright?"
"Okay." Wyatt replied.
Dr. Johns rubbed the cold gel on my baby bump before swiping the wand firmly against my skin.
Eventually, a picture of my baby flashed on the screen. We could see the baby's little arm moving around, and the tiny eyes were closed, but soon to be open wide. It was beautiful.
"Is that the baby?" Wyatt asked pointing at the screen again.
"Yes, that is the baby." Dr. Johns replied. "Now let's listen to the heartbeat."
Dr. Johns pressed a button on the screen and the sound of a heartbeat filled the room. It was an amazing feeling to hear my baby's heartbeat, all healthy.
However, Wyatt didn't seem too amused by the sound. He only cringed and covered his ear with his hand palms making both me and Dr. Johns laugh.
Five minutes later, the ultrasound was over. Dr. Johns got me a copy of the ultrasound picture right before we left. We then said our bye's and left the building.
"Can I come to your house?" Wyatt asked as I was helping him into the car.
"Of course you can!" I answered. "I'll just have to send dad a text and let him know where you are, alright?" I said pulling out my phone.
I sent my dad a quick text saying that Wyatt wouldn't be coming over to mine and Harry's place.
I was a bit nervous about coming home though. Ever since I left the house I had a feeling there was gonna be a fight when I got home, but maybe now that Wyatt's with me, I can avoid that fight. I know how much Harry likes Wyatt, so I know he wouldn't start a fight in front of my younger brother.
Ever since Harry met my dad and Wyatt a few months ago, Harry's been treating my little brother like it was his own. Whenever he comes over, Harry always has something fun planned for him and that makes me realize how a good father Harry's gonna be.
Still, I don't know what type of father would choose a football game over seeing his child for the last time before birth. He missed out on what could possibly be my last ultrasound ever, and I have the right to be upset about that.
"Leah, why couldn't Harry come?" Wyatt asked.
"He was just busy." I replied. "He had things he needed to do for work, so he needed more time than expected to finish it. Therefore, he couldn't attend the ultrasound." I lied.
"Okay."
