The big day

Emma got up at nine and immediately got out of bed excited for her day with Regina.  She took a quick shower and blow dried her hair. "Wow what are all these for?" Emma asked. "Horse back riding." Regina said not wanting to brag about her accomplishments. "You ride?" Emma asked looking excitedly at Regina. "Yea. We have 10 horses kept in the stables in the back." Regina said smiling. "Oh Gina will you teach me? I've always wanted to learn how to ride!" Emma pleaded. "Of course my dear, but right now, I want you with me." Regina smirked. Emma sat down on Regina's bed still looking around the room. Regina sat down next to her, their legs touching, which sent chills up both of their spines. They sat quietly a for a moment. "What happened to your dad?You never talk about him." Regina asked. Emma took a deep breath. "He died three months ago."  Emma said looking down sadly. "I'm so sorry Emma I didn't mean to." Regina said sympathetically. "It's okay. You need to know if we're going to be together. He died at war right after they adopted me. I don't remember much about him other than that he died a hero." Emma said smiling at Regina. "Im so sorry" was all Regina could say. "You're adopted?" Regina asked. "Well kinda, it's a long story." Emma frowned remembering what happened. "You don't have to tell me now dear. Tell me when your ready." Regina said looking at Emma smiling and wrapped an arm around her bringing her close.

Emma looked into Regina's eyes and noticed something. "Was it love? Lust? Sympathy? Maybe all three?" Emma thought.
