Date: September 18th, 2021.

Time: 13:35PM, Around Lunch Time.

Location: Just Outside of an old Apartment building near the west portion of town.

We headed out of the apartment building with all of our gear and minimal weapons. As I closed the entrance to the apartment, the distinct smell of rotten flesh and smoke filled my nose.. I turned around to see what I can only describe as Armageddon. Bodies littering the streets, both moving and still. Cars were smashed into each other, some on fire, some toppled over in the mass chaos that erupted during the invasion, some still like they were just stopped for work. Buildings torn apart and some fully destroyed due to panic. Seeing this in the movies was nothing in comparison to actually experiencing it in reality.

"It's gotten worse since yesterday huh Aiden?" I asked.

"Sure has man. Honestly, I don't think its gonna get better any time soon." responded Aiden.

"I disagree, Aiden" Jeff responds. "I remember seeing something on a news website minutes before I fled my home. It said something like the government has people down here who are trying to rescue survivors. But they have closed the city off everywhere except for 2 tunnels that are on opposite sides of the city.

"Yeah, I heard about that as a possibility if this ever happened on a blog one day. It seemed kinda cool at the time." I responded.

"At that time it may have seemed cool. But reality is always scarier than fiction, and with the situation as it is, we may never be able to escape. Only survive until we die." Jeff said.

To be honest they were both right. With the given circumstances at hand, we may never get out of here, living or dead. The thought scares me, but I know we must move on to find Robert and Tori.

As we begin our walk to the opposite side of the city, things kept getting more and more depressing. Not just seeing the destruction, but realizing that any of those people could be us. Thinking of what people have gone through in the last 24 hours. How much some have lost, just pondering on it was a horrible thing to think about. We had gone about one mile, avoiding the undead as best as possible, flanking in and out of buildings and around trees. Everything was going great, especially for the first day out. After two straight hours of walking and such, things take a turn for the worst.

"Uh, guys? Do you see what I see?" asked Jeff in a trembling voice.

My heart dropped to my stomach the second Me and Aiden looked in the direction that Jeff was looking. There in the distance was what looked like a army. The army of men that were sent out to save survivors and kill of as many of the undead that they could were being ripped to pieces by the flesh craving zombies. The sight was horrifying, especially because of the fact there were hundreds even thousands of the undead running over the army like a car to a old toy left in the driveway. And the worst part: they were heading right for us.

"Jeff! Dakota! This way! Into the building!" Aiden screamed in panic.

We bolted to the nearest building, which happened to be my old high school: West Pinewood High. As much as I would love to reminisce over the fun-filled days of my high school years, my impending death was more important. Luckily for us, the building had a big window that led into the lobby/hallway of the school that happened to be broken to pieces. We entered through it, ignoring the possibility of getting injured while attempting to do so. As we all dumped in on top of one another, the sound of a riot got louder and louder, as well as the screams of the soldiers getting torn to bits. Suddenly, the screams lessened, the gunshots ceased, and the only noise left to hear was the sounds of the damned wailing for more flesh.
