As we continued our dangerous journey, things started to get a little more dangerous. Crossing the main road, we stuck close to one another, as well as hugging against anything that would keep us out of the view of the undead. We managed to get across easier than we expected, but that was just the beginning. Just as we hopped over a fence to get out of site, something very eerie happened. Everything got extremely quiet. No moans, no screams, it was like the whole world just paused. Silence. Everywhere. This wasn't normal, unless something big was about to happen. I scanned the area for signs of something, but fell short when I saw nothing.

"Something's not right. I can sense it." Implied Aiden.

"Yeah, same here. I'm gonna look and see if there is any movement on the main street." I said nervously.

I walked over to the side of the house whose fence we jumped over to become unseen. I tilted my head around the corner to see what caused everything to stop and stare. I reluctantly moved myself fully around the corner to see something I can't even seem to wrap my mind around. All and I mean ALL of the undead were staring directly at the moon. What in the hell were they doing this for? All of a sudden, the ground started to shake, violently. Just as the earthquake worsened, all of the undead started to scream louder than ever. The moon wasn't white like usual. It was red, blood red, unlike anything I had ever seen. The quake was getting more violent, as I motioned the group to head for cover. I couldn't believe what I was witnessing. The undead, their eyes started to change from normal to pure red. It was like the moon was transforming them. Before I knew it the screaming stopped, the earthquake ceased, and the zombies became quiet once again. I was so confused as to what phenomenon just occurred. I began to walk back to the fence, where the others had taken shelter from the quake.

"What the f*** was that?" Aiden asked.

"I have no clu-" Before I could finish my sentence, zombies that once were walking around in the street and running suddenly started to riot. Three zombies rammed into the fence, faster than ever.

"Run!" shouted Isaac.

"Everyone! Follow me!" screamed Jeff.

We followed Jeff, sprinting as fast as our bodies could go. Breaking through fences and houses, we came up at the street where Tori and Robert were hiding out. There at the end of the street was a flare, symbolizing survivors. Tori and Robert were standing beside it.

"Isaac, Dakota! Get the girl from the house! Me and Jeff will grab weapons from Robert and Tori!" Aiden screamed frantically.

Me and Isaac darted to the house, smashing in through the window. He hinted for me to search the upstairs of the house while he got the downstairs. The first room I checked, I found nothing. Second, nothing. The third and final room I searched, there she was, in the corner crying. She screamed as I entered the room, but I managed to calm her down and grab her.

"WAIT! MY TEDDY IS ON MY BED! I CAN'T LEAVE MR. FLUFFERS!" she screamed.

Against my own will, I turned and picked up the bear, and ran downstairs to meet up with Isaac. What I saw was horrific. I covered up the girls' eyes, and tried to close my own. Isaac was dead, the undead lifting up with chunks of skin from his neck and upper body in their mouths. They darted at me, fast. I quickly reacted, dropped the girl, got my crowbar, and dug the bar into the head of the first zombie. Dodging the second, I managed to kick the back of its head, pushing it through the window face first. The little girl was leaned up against the wall under a small table in complete fear. Her face spit the words helpless and horrified while staring at her once alive father.

I turned to look at Isaac, lying on the ground, lifeless. Until he started to twitch. I picked up my crowbar once again, helplessly standing at the opposite side of the room. Doubt filled my mind like a sink running over. "Am I capable of doing this?" This thought got louder and louder when I finally realized he was standing up. Dead. He roared at me and began to charge me. I tried to dodge him, but was too slow, as he threw me to the ground. Hunched over me, he attempted to swing at me, but was blocked by my crowbar. He bit down on it, attempting to bite down on my skin, only to infect me. He was too strong! I couldn't hold him back much longer. Guess I wasn't willing to go this far.
