In the Gallery of My Mind

Eyes wide open, I lay in bed -
Thinking, feeling, remembering
The almost-forgotten past
In words and pictures
buried deep in the gallery of my mind:

I remember the widest of grins,
The nervous beating of the heart,
The shy, wandering gazes
The warmth, the tingles -
Bursting, crawling, spreading
Through every nerve,
Through every vein.

I recall laughing, crying,
Trusting, doubting,
Ignoring, believing,
Standing, Falling all over again.

I still remember every moment -
Piecing together, connecting -
Seeing, observing one giant collage.
Each memory a myriad
of colors and emotions -
Clear, Vivid, Glowing.
