I awoke with a sore throat this morning and had a sneezing fit, followed by a coughing fit. Mel brought me a take out breakfast from the dining hall and I dined on fruit and yogurt and some hot tea. I somehow managed to email my lab partner and tell her that I was sick for the day and that could she please turn in my homework for me. I sent her the document via email. The lab teacher had assigned a report for us to write, on Monday, which I had done, but was in no condition to walk there and turn it in.
Right now, the tea is soothing my throat, although it is hard to write while coughing. The sniffles are intense as well. Mel had promised me that she'd buy me some Tylenol from the Health Center next door. And just now, Sarah came in with some herbal tea, for later. The perks of living in a dorm with awesome roommates and friends.
The book that I had bought and started reading is lying on the bookshelf, with a cover and all (it's some paper from a box of cookies that Miyuki had gotten from home; she gave me the paper when I had complained, playfully, about Mel hating the cover of my book).
The strange stone that I had received from Mr. Sand is sitting on a cushion of tissues on a makeshift bed of its own. It has appeared to change shape every now and then. Or maybe its just my imagination. I bet it is. There's no way a stone can shift shape and morph. It's just an odd thought, something that comes out in a supernatural novel of some sort. Or a fantasy one, filled with magic and wonder.
I have to lie down and try to wrestle down this cold now. I hope it gets better.
Signing off,
Naomi
