Don't Let This Happen

Chapter 1

              

       It was a cold, wintery night in Titans Tower. All of the Titans were sleeping soundly. It was 3 AM and all of a sudden, there was a noise that came from the kitchen. It sounded like broken glass. Robin jumped up and ran into the kitchen only to find Beast Boy and the broken cookie jar.

"Beast Boy? Why is there a broken cookie jar on the floor?" Robin asked.

"Well, I was just hungry and I couldn't reach the jar..." Beast Boy replied.

"Beast Boy, go to sleep."

"Fine!"

By this time, Raven was up because she heard a ruckus in the kitchen. She thought to herself, "Why is it always this early?" Raven just levitated back to her room and fell asleep again.
  
   Beast Boy was rubbing his eyes and had a hard time walking back to his room because he was really tired. He did make it to his room and passed out as soon as he laid on his bed.
      
TIME SKIP

      It was now 8 AM. Raven was getting ready to go to her favorite depressing café, Cyborg was going to the gym, and Beast Boy was going to go to the moped store to see if there was one he could afford.
    
  Robin was in his work room trying to find out new information about Slade when all of a sudden, he heard a knock on the door.

"Robin?" The voice said softly.

Immediately, Robin knew who it was. It was Starfire.

"Come in," he said still focused on his work.

The door slid open and she walked slowly into the room looking around in amazement to see all of the posters and newspaper articles posted on the wall with small pieces of tape. She walked over to Robin's desk.

"Has your search been successful?" she asked.

"Not really."

"Do you need the help with your mission?"

Robin just listened to the way she sounded. He always loved the way she talked. He thought about the kiss they shared when they first met. How she only spoke Tameranian until that one kiss. He thought that every word of English she spoke, she learned from him in that one single kiss.

"No, thank you though," he replied politely.

"May I stay in here with you? Everyone is gone to do 'the outing' and I would like to help in anyway I can," she said.

"Sure. That's fine with me."

Starfire sat down next to Robin and watched as he wrote down notes on a piece of notebook paper. His writing wasn't neat, but at least he could read it.

She asked him, "Do you want me to write the notes and you tell me what to write?"

He replied, "Actually, that would be really helpful. Only if you don't mind."

"I do not mind at all." She was glad she was able to help.

Robin watched as Starfire wrote the notes. He watched how gracefully and neatly she wrote each word. They both were enjoying spending this time together.

As they finished up the notes, they stood up and had to stretch where they had been sitting for a long time.

"Thanks for all your help, Star."

"I welcome you!" she said gleefully.

They had shared a hug and both blushed. They walked out of the work room and looked around.

"Have our friends still not returned?" asked Starfire.

"I don't know, but I thought that they would be back by now." Robin looked out the window. "Oh my gosh, the blizzard is getting really bad out there."

Starfire's communicator started to beep. She opened it up to see Raven, Cyborg, and Beast Boy in the coffee shop downtown.

"Starfire!" everybody said in unison.

"Friends! It is glorious to see you! Where have you gone?"

Raven replied, "We all met up at the coffee shop downtown and that is when the blizzard really got bad. The snow piled up really quickly and the manager said that we have to stay here until the blizzard clears up. In other words, we might be here a while."

"Oh, okay. Well, Robin and I shall see you all when you return!"

"Okay."

Starfire shut her communicator. She was really worried about her friends. Robin told her that everything was going to be alright. Starfire jumped over and hugged Robin very tightly.

Just then, the power shut off.
