The Party

It took me an hour to get ready and I was beyond nervous. I had no idea what to do, say, act. I know they say to act yourself around someone you're interested in but that didn't help at all.

I finally decided on some ripped skinny jeans and a tight fitting top. I checked myself out in the mirror and was pretty satisfied at what I saw. I look more mature then I usually do and I hope Luke thinks so too.

At about six o'clock I heard the doorbell ring and went to answer it. When I opened the door I saw two handsome Australian boys looking down at me.

"Hey Case ready to go?" Calum smiled.

"Yes" I smiled in response. After I said goodbye to my parents Calum, Luke and I headed out the door towards Calum's truck. We drove in peace with only the soft sound of music in the background.

After about 10 minutes we made it to a large house just outside of town. The whole house was lit up and there was lots of loud music and screaming teenagers. The party wasn't too big, which I liked, only about 75 people, most of which I already knew from school.

After Luke went to get a drink Calum turned to me.

"You look really good" Calum said which caused me to blush. "And I think Luke thought so too!"

"You really think so?" I smiled and Calum just nodded.

Later I found myself trapped in a large game of truth or dare but Calum and Luke were there so it was okay. I managed to sit silently and not get picked for a while until I hear someone mention my name.

"Hey Casey!" I took up questioningly to the sound of my name. It's a guy from my Law class, Michael. "I dare you to kiss Hemmings."

I felt my cheeks start to warm up at the thought of my lips against Luke's but hoped no one noticed under the poor lighting. Sheepishly I walked to the other side of the circle and sat down next to Luke. He looked at me with questioning eyes and I whispered.

"We don't have to do this!"

"It's just a kiss" he responded and began to lean in until our lips touched. Everyone's eyes were on us, while shouting crude comments but I was too busy to pay attention. I swear I could see sparks fly but as quickly as the kiss started it ended and now it was my turn to pick an unsuspecting victim.

"Alright Calum!" He looked at me with a confused expression in his face. "Truth or dare?"

"I think I'll stay on the safe side, truth!" Calum have me a teasing glare as if to say 'be nice to me'

"Hmm... Which girl playing this game has the nicest ass?" I smiled at him and he returned it with a wink.

"Way to go easy on me Case! Alright, well I'd have to say... Casey, you probably have the nicest ass!" The whole group started to laugh and some of the boys did cat calls but not in a mean way, we were just all having a lot of fun.

After the game Luke walked over to me. I was confused but satisfied he wanted to spend time with me.

"Hey do you want a drink?" He asked politely. I nodded, Luke came back shortly with a red solo cup containing a dark liquid.

"You'll like it!" He smiled placing a hand on my back and leading me to a balcony where it was quiet.

Once we made it outside we sat down on the worn deck chairs. They had probably been there forever, like the deck furniture that your grandparents always refuse to throw out. Regardless of their age the chairs were comfortable. Plus, I never thought I'd find myself alone with Luke, it was nice. Butterflies began to swarm in my stomach and any thought of speaking made me feel sick. So I sat in silence waiting for Luke to break the awkward tension.

"You're a pretty good kisser" Luke teased looking down at me with a smile.

"You're not so bad yourself Hemmings!" I returned slowly bringing the red cup to my mouth and letting the liquid dance on my tongue. I wasn't sure what I was but I tasted good.

"Coke and rum." Luke informed me as if reading my mind. "Do you like it?"

"Yah it's really good!" I returned, my eyes fixated on the cup in my lap.

Luke and I continued to talk until Calum came to find us.

"Hey you ready to go?" He said calmly but the expression on his face was stern and upset. I figured I ask about it later, maybe something happened. I glanced down at my phone and noticed it was 11:30, curfew is midnight.

Calum dropped Luke off first and then proceeded to my house. I loved driving in Calum's truck he always had an All Time Low cd playing silently, with the windows open, it was relaxing.

"So did you have fun?" Calum said without any emotion, never letting his eyes leave the road. I just nodded. "Did you get what you came for?"

"Not quite" I said remembering my special moment with Luke. Calum pulled into my driveway and parked the vehicle.

"Thanks for doing this for me Cal," I invited him in for a hug which he gladly excepted. "It really means a lot!"

"No problem Case," he said releasing me from his firm grasp. "I'll see you later!"

"Wait..." Calum turned to face me. "You looked really upset when you came to get Luke and I. Is everything alright?"

"Yah, just a little tired that's all!"

"Are you sure?" I responded suspiciously.

"Yes Casey. I promise I'm fine." His lips slightly curling as he chuckled.

"Alright, bye!" I waved him off, lazily making my way up the driveway.
