Woohoo! This is probably the longest chapter I have ever written on a wattpad story!

New story, new idea, hopefully a good one.

Please do not be rude or an ass aight? Also do not steal my story. It is MINE. MY idea, MY writing. Go write your own story.

Enjoy :)

The docks were busy at this hour. Merchants were rushing to get their goods on or off their boats. Sacks and barrels littered the hard ground and small children peeked through them. Either being yelled at or stealing something they had been able to get a hold of. Smoke and salt filled the air and surrounded the many people walking along the docks. Men and women of all shapes, sizes and of all different social standings were huddled on the docks. A scrawny girl in a a torn, stained shirt, pants too small for her legs and hair tucked into a small cap ran through the docks chasing after a ratty dog.

Her cheeks were flushed from the exercise and her breath came out in soft pants. She dodged past men carrying large boxes and barrels, laughing when they yelled at her. The dog yipped and barked in glee, the wind rushing past his face. He stuck out his tongue, tasting the salty air. His orange and brown fur was dirty and matted, but he was happy and full of joy.

Men and women watched, some in amusement and some in disgust. The girl took notice of neither, she was too caught up in chasing her dog. Some women whispered to their companions about the torn and indecent clothes she wore, and others looked on in longing to be so carefree.

Ceto had never seen the ocean. She'd never even seen a picture of the ocean and now she was her, standing right next to the water. She could see the waves crashing against the shore and spraying water into the air. She'd never seen so many people, people who were laughing and smiling.

Growing up in an orphanage in a small, country town was hard. Food was scarce and making friends was even more difficult. The only friend she had was the scrawny German Shepherd that she found looking for scraps in the town. It wasn't too long ago, maybe she had been twelve or thirteen.

She had been behind the small bakery, looking for food, when she found a small, shivering dog. it had ignored her at first, but it obviously needed food more then she did. She managed to find half a slice of stale bread and took it to the dog. At first it had been shy and scared of her, but with some coxing, the dog took the bread and ate it. After that the dog became Ceto's companion and eventually Ceto named her Gypsy. She couldn't ever part with her, Gypsy was her closest friend.

Her and Gypsy had run away from the small town. They hitched a ride with some merchants and Ceto used some of the money she managed to save from doing small tasks for people to pay for the trip. The couple had been adamant not to take any of the small girls money as she caused no problems during the trip. So instead, Ceto bought some food from them, which she and Gypsy had eaten within all of ten minutes.

That didn't bother the two, they had survived weeks without food and Ceto still had four pieces of copper and one silver. She was hoping to get a job at the docks moving equipment or cleaning. If worst came to worst she could always try and return to her orphanage, although that was the complete last resort.

Suddenly, she smacked into a tall man.

"Watch where you're going boy, or you might find yourself in some trouble." An old man with a scar along his cheek and dirty brown hair stared down a Ceto. She stared up at him, her big green eyes filled with fear. Her face was covered in so much grime from not bathing that it concealed her feminine features. The man continued to stare at her, then his gaze moved to her left shoulder. Just where her neck met her shoulder, a tear in her shirt revealed her crescent moon shaped birthmark.
