The next day I awoke at seven in the morning with the sun shining in my eyes. I groggily went through my morning routine and dressed. I double checked my gym bag and made my way downstairs. I walked into the kitchen, wrote a note to Aunt Karen to let her know where I was going, grabbed a banana and a Powerade before leaving to The Cage.
I wonder how Heather and Logan will interact, I wondered as I parked my car.
I made my way into the gym and to the locker room to change into my body revealing workout clothes. When I was finished I made my way upstairs to the workout room. Heather was already stretching when I entered, so I made my way over to her and stretched beside her.
"What are we doing today Coach?" Heather asked seriously. Before I could answer her, however, a deep cheery voice interrupted me.
"Hey Emma! I'm here!" I looked over my shoulder towards the door to find Logan jogging over to me, smiling and waving excitedly.
Dear God, please let me get through this day without being charged with assault, I prayed mentally, already getting a headache from his cheeriness.
"What the hell is he doing here?" Heather asked with a disgusted look.
"You two know each other?" I asked, my brows raised in shock.
Heather scoffed in disgust, "Unfortunately. We've been in the same classes with each other since first grade. He's an irritating little shit and his stupid smile pisses me off."
Wow, I really need to be more observant of my surroundings if I missed this giant at school. I thought seriously. I hope Heather can learn to get along with him though, she obviously has something against the sweet idiot.
"I'm ready to train Emma!" Logan declared when he finally made it to my side. He plopped down on the floor next to me and began stretching, still grinning from ear to ear. "So, what are we doing today Coach?" He asked goofily.
I opened my mouth to answer but was interrupted, yet again, by Heather, "Coach? What the hell is Godzilla over there talking about?" Heather demanded miffed.
"Godzilla? Who the hell are you calling Godzilla, Elsa?" Logan demanded.
Well, I guess this answers my question on how they'll interact with each other. So much for sweet idiot, I thought slightly amused at their back and forth banter.
"You watch your mouth! Do I look like a magical singing princess to you?" Heather replied hotly.
"Oh, I'll tell you what you look like alright-"
Before it could turn into an all out brawl I stepped in, "That's enough." I demanded forcefully. "I will be helping you both train and I don't want to hear any complaints. If you don't like it then leave. Now zip it." Neither of them said a word or made a move to leave as they continued to glare at each other. I nodded at their nonvocal answers and proceeded to finally tell them what we were going to do.
Hours later and I was beginning to second guess my decision to train them both. It turns out that they absolutely could not stand one another, bickering and swinging at each other every chance they got. They argued and threw insults back and forth during their three mile run, while biking, while doing pull-ups and sit-ups. They 'accidentally' struck their arms and legs out at each other if they were in touching distance, causing almost brawls to begin. It was a never ending battle of who-hates-who-more and it was giving me a migraine.
"Shut up. My twelve and thirteen year olds behave better than you two! I understand that you two can't stand each other, for whatever reason, but leave it outside. In here everyone is the same, so shut your mouths and stop with the swinging or there will be severe consequences." I told them through gritted teeth. They both had the decency to look ashamed and nodded.
