Today was the day that Alison was to leave. There was going to be this huge christening and then she would be off for what seemed like a month with her soon to be husband, and then they would be married. Great. She had been begging her mother for months to not make her go.

" Mother please dont make me go. Who knows what could happen on a boat, in the middle of nowhere with that creeper."

" Exactly! isnt it wonderful! You will go with him and by the time you get back im sure you will really love him, and we will all live happily ever after! And" she exagerated the word as she pinched alison's arm "OW, Mother what the bloody hell was that for!?" " You are to refer to him as Alexander, or even Alex if that will shut you up but if the word creeper, or slime, or or"

" Or scum,or swine?" Alison joked. her mother said " Enough with the jokes im serious Alison!"

"Alright, alright" Alison gave up quickly because her mother looked on the verge of a heart attack. " Ill be good i suppose, but i dont see why i can't call him names when he gets to call me Ali." Alison cringed, she didnt hate the nick name. but thats what he used to call her when they were younger, and to her now it was the eqivalent of a drunken bar rat calling her "sweet heart" "Gross" is what she siad under her breath, but her mother just sighed. This is pretty much how coversations about Alex went between her and her mother. She had learned to live with it though. She had to if she was going to be spending the rest of her life with him.

So now as Alexander Jacob Williams broke a over priced bottle of champane on the bow of his new ship, which was to be called The Eliza Alison wondered if she should've just jumped into the sea right there. She giggled, nah they would probably catch her by the train of this over sized pale blue dress before she even hit the water.

As Alex and the duke, and some other "important people" were giving some sort of speech, and men were loading the ship she saw that her mother who was standing to her left was weeping. " Mother whats the matter?" She whispered. " Its nothing, im just going to miss you thats all." As she said this she sniffled and wiped away a few tears. To Alison this was funny, and sort of infuriating. "Oh mother your the bloody one whose making me go anyway!" She said in a hushed tone. " If i was going to be missed you should have thought about that when i was begging to stay months ago!"

" I know i know, I'm alright, i still want you to go, i will just miss my daughter thats all."

This made Alison break a little on the inside. Not only was this marriage effecting her whole life, but it was changing her whole relationship with her mother. After she was married she wouldn't see her as much, and that hurt. Besides Alex, her mother had always been her only real friend. The other girls her age in society were utter whores, they would do anything for a good name with someone important, and most of them envied Alison for marrying Alex, or being so beautiful. Whatever the reason, she couldn't care less.

So now as the men finished loading up the ship, and a few of the stuffy shirt men were threw with their meaning less speeches, it came time to go.

Alison turned abruptly as she felt a hand squeeze around her wrist. It was Alex. He must have ran to her because he was panting with a huge grin of excitement on his face. " Come on" he said quite out of breath. " Its time to go now, I'm so excited, aren't you excited, this is going to be a blast!" His excitement surprised her, because it was a pleasant excitement, like one would get from a new toy at christmas, and she couldn't tell what about a month in the middle of the ocean was so exciting. " Yeah sure, um just let me say good bye." As she wriggled her wrist out of his grip, she turned to her mother who had now burst into tears. " Oh mother please don't cry like this, we will see each other in September, it only one month." Little did Alison know that it wouldn't be September of this year, and it would be a while until the next time she saw her mother. " I know." her mother said. " Be good, and don't do anything that you wouldn't be proud to tell you mother, understand?" "I understand, Goodbye mother. I love you." " I love to you child.

Right then as she set foot on that ship, she immediately felt like something was wrong. She shrugged that feeling off. "I'm just acting paranoid, thats all" she thought to herself "Lets just get this over with."

Looking back now, Alison still didn't know if she regretted getting on that boat, or not trusting her instincts that something was wrong. But one thing that she was sure of while she was reflecting was that something was to go wrong . Something would go terribly wrong.
