Today Lydia is actually going to school. I'm worried about her classmates bullying and tormenting her. Ever since I've managed to come back for her, it's just so overwhelming.
At the moment Lydia is getting a ride to school from her mom. As the car rolls up next to the sidewalk Lydia opens the door but pauses.
"Mom do I have to go?" Lydia asked looking down.
"Yes Lydia. When you come home from school grandma will be at the house and I'll come home with a surprise. Alright sweetie?" Tracy said to her daughter.
"Ok." Lydia sighed and got out of the car. "Thanks mom."
Lydia shut the blue car door and proceeded to the main doors of her high school. I could see her slight hesitation while she opened the front door. On her way to class she kept looking left and right, almost as if a demon was about to approach her.
I assumed it was anxiety from bullies. She managed to get into her first class without any problems. Lydia went to a seat all the way in the back and rested her arms on the wooden desk. There were a few of her classmates already in the room. Most were reading invisible man which i do recall seeing in Lydia's back pack previously. I suppose it's a book they have to read for English class.
The first bell rung and Lydia patiently got out her copy of the invisible man and a notebook with foxes all over it. It's cute that she still likes foxes. As more kids enter the class room the teacher writes the homework on the board.
Home Work:
-finish the two chapters that didn't get finished in class
-write three discussion questions for each chapter
Lydia flips through her notebook but stops when she gets hit with a paper ball. She looks around and spots a group of jocks with cocky smiles on their faces. One blonde guy in the middle smirked and mouthed 'open it' so Lydia opened it.
Aye girl ;)
I aint saying you a thot but popsicle sticks isn't the only thing you wanna suck.
After Lydia finished reading the note she looked back at the group of boys and they started cracking up with laughter. Lydia immediately grabbed her things with tears falling down her face. She left the class running toward the cafeteria. All she kept doing was re-reading that note. No wonder she didn't want to come to school.
"What's wrong?" A lady said to Lydia
"It's nothing Dominique." Lydia wiped away her tears and sniffled
"Is it your class mates again?"
Lydia didn't answer, all Lydia did was cry with her hands in her face. Dominique immediately hugged Lydia. "Let's go into my office. I'll get your missed work for you later." Dominique calmly said while walking to her office with Lydia.
"Do you still have my file opened about my bullying situation?" Lydia asked.
"Yes, I do."
"Well then why are none of these kids getting in trouble?" Lydia started to raise her voice. "They haven't gotten a suspension or anything! Why not?"
"Lydia don't raise your voice at me. I'm just a security guard, ok? I can only do so much."
"I'm sorry. I've just been upset lately."
