"This is totally finding its way to Mason." Jessica laughed at her shallow success of getting a clear picture that revealed all.
"Maybe we shouldn't do this." Sophia hesitantly suggested, and Jessica soon shot her a wtf look.
"What has gotten into your mind? Have you gone mental?" She rhetorically asked with her cool persona, but that just made the sarcasm all the more audible.
"I'm just saying that maybe we shouldn't do this because maybe his happier with her, maybe." Sophia thought out loud as her fiddling fingers gave off her nervous persona.
Jessica tried to wrap her head around that theory; she really did.
"That's bullshit." Jessica snarled, still maintaining her zen stance.
Without waiting for any other protest against their plan, Jessica's little finger hit the send button that lead to Mason, which will eventually lead to the demise of their horrid relationship.
They were currently hiding out in the food court after they made sure that Claire and her hubby were staying in Starbucks and that they were totally oblivious to their master plan.
"Shit." Jessica hissed out loud as she got up and pulled Sophia with her to the nearest exit, even if it wasn't the way they were supposed to go; anywhere that wasn't here.
"Okay, we made it out alive without Claire or her slut finding us." Jessica puffed out her breath of air.
"I better check on Mason; he must be going through a lot right now." Sophia said after she had a feeling that Mason got it and was probably going through a massive emotional turmoil.
Sophia thanked the heavens that they took the proper exit that lead to her car. She flashed it open and set route for Mason's place.
Even if she knew that their relationship was doomed to burn, she sort of felt guilty about all this. She always thought that their relationship would implode all on its own without the influences of outside forces.
"Mason? Mason, open up. I know you're home." She desperately called out as her palm imitated what she felt as it kept hitting the surface of his door.
A divine intervention made her incessant doorknob jiggling actually work for once as she forced herself through the door to find that Mason was tossed on carelessly on his sofa with a blank expression on his face. And judging by his unlocked phone on his hand, she could only make the conclusion that he saw Jessica's message.
"Mason?" Her quick desperation to get to him now became the delicacy one would bring to a traumatized child. She approached him slowly, whereas he just stared blankly in front of him.
When he didn't move, Sophia sat down next to him, but she made the mistake of looking at the picture still flashing her with the guilt that continued to consume her completely; the fact that Mason was in a state like this just intensified the guilt.
Sophia soon just wrapped her arms around his torso and snuggled herself to the side, while his arm all so naturally wrapped themselves around her shoulders.
This act was more of to comfort herself rather than to comfort him. She immediately regretted it.
Sophia soon realized that she would rather him live a long happy life without her rather than to see him as miserable as he was now.
