I am going to die was my thoughts as I flailed around in the air. I was desperately and blindly reaching out in all directions to find anything I could use to my advantage in my situation. Maybe a Night Hawk or a life boat...I am definitely going to die.
The ocean looked as if it was going to swallow me with open arms as I was approaching it at a fast pace.
I spun around in the air, not wanting to go face first into my grave, and closed my eyes.
"This is it," I thought, but as I was sure I was going to be smothered in a icy blanket any second, I heard something I was not expecting and my eyes opened in a flash and I scanned the air. I put my arms out to slow my descend a little and looked around again only to be met by a familiar cerulean blue.
My eyes grew round as saucers and I flailed my arms a little and I knew that he probably saw the panic in my eyes because the Night Hawk he was riding shot out another green flame from its exhaust pipe and it cut through the air like a blade.
The strange blonde man's eyes were probably as wide as mine as he finally reached me and without a thought he threw out his arm for me and I gladly took it, swinging myself onto the back of the flying machine.
" So no thanks to your Hero?" the man spoke up with an atrocious accent. Oh god he was from Ameria.
" Well if you hadn't blown my ship to smithereens I would, but you did, so..." I trailed off and let out a sigh of annoyance at the man...oh what was his name...Alfred, yeah Alfred.
" Come on dude it was totally an accident and I didn't know that you had my brother on the ship!"
" Oh I totally forgot about your brother. Is he ok?" I looked at our surroundings as we rushed through the rain and wind. My poor ship was now sinking into the ocean and the pieces left afloat were on fire or just drifting off in the rough waves. I looked in the direction we were going and was surprised to see we were heading in the direction of an island of some sort. I can't remember ever seeing it marked on any map, well I can't exactly recall at the moment where we were in the first place. Alfred began to talk again.
" Yeah he was fine. I told Jameson to take him back to my ship." My eyes widened at this.
" Why didn't you escape? Why'd you come back for me?"
" Well I figured anyone who goes back for people they hardly know couldn't be that bad." Alfred smiled while looking over his shoulder at me. I blushed and and looked down towards the island we were steadily approaching.
" One more question." I frowned when I noticed we were also closing the distance between the island and ourselves.
" Yeah?"
" You do know that if we continue to go this speed while landing we'll crash...right?" I (discretely) tightened my grip around Alfred's waist. He chuckled and threw his head back a little.
" Don't worry dude! I've got this." I thought otherwise and peered around him at the speedometer.
" Alfred! You're speeding up! You git, slow down!" I think I was crushing Alfred's ribs at how hard I was gripping now. He didn't seem to notice, and just to spite me, sped up.
" Come on, live a little!" He turned his head to look at me at the corner of his eye again. I smacked him.
" If you continue to speed up and fly towards the beach, I don't think I'll be able to live anymore!" He just laughed and as we finally made it to the island he flew right over the beach and into the foliage. I will never admit that I screamed, which I didn't.
" What the bloody hell do you think you're doing! Stop!" My voice picked up as we swooped under a low hanging branch.
" If I stop now we'll have to walk through the forest,in the rain, and you will complain about it." I scowled at the comment.
" Well...whatever! Where are we going?"
     " You'll see in a minute."
"Thats bloody helpful."
Soon we slowed down to a decent speed, which I was thouroghly glad for, and I could see a large clearing ahead of us. In the middle of the clearing a small building stood tall, but still short enough so it couldnt be seen over the tops of the trees. I concluded it was a hideout, a small smile quirked at my lips at the thought of warm and dry air.
" Don't get to cozy, Kirkland. I still have to bring you back to headqaurters." I was snapped out of my thoughts by Alfreds statement.
"What?! I gave your brother back and didnt kill you, and this is how you repay me?" Alfred laughed.
"Who do you think I am? I'm a General of the Ameria Royal Navy Air Fleet. I can't just let a criminal escape because I want to. That's Treason, and they'd kill me." Well I understood that much, but I'd be damned before some yank decided to tote me off to jail.
" Why didn't you tell me that before you rescued me! I'd rather be dead than rot in jail." I was starting to grow even more irrtiated at Alfred and watched our surroundings closley. The ground was at least a foot away, and we were going about 30 mph. If i jumped and rolled I could probably escape into the jungle without being caught by Alfred, him and his Night Hawk could fly, but could they go through thick foilage? I hoped not.
" I get what your thinking, but it won't be so bad. The foods actually pretty good." I jumped from the Night Hawk. Alfed gave a wild yell and swung the Machine around just as I peeled off my heavy coat. As he came bursting at me with one arm ready to scoop me back on to the Night Hawk I threw my coat. It hit him in the face and he took a nasty spin before finally getting it off. I was already into the forest before he had turned around.
"I'll be dead before you get me!" I shouted and pushed myself past a thick set of trees, and ran as fast as I could. I laughed as I heard Alfred start to yell profanities into the air.
Hearing the roar of the Night Hawk dimminish I guessed that Alfred wasnt following me , so I slowed my hurried pace to a jog. I was absolutley thrilled that my escape had worked, but my joy was diminishing due to the fact that it was still raining quite heavily and it was beginnning to turn cold with the arrival of twilight. My coat was nice and heavy, and would surely keep me warm, but I had used it to escape...my fingers were very pale now and my teeth began to chatter. "Bloody hell."
I had been walking for about two hours and it had become extremely dark out. I could barely see ten feet in front of me and the rain hadnt let up. My throat was beginning to ache and I was sure that my legs were numb now. I tripped over a rock and almost fell over. The only reason I kept walking was to find the beach, which I thought I should have happened upon by now.  Maybe I was walking in circles, I wouldnt know. Bloody fucking hell the rain just picked up.
I tripped over another rock, but instead of tumbling onto the ground, I tumbled off a clif. The last thing I heard before blacking out was the roar of a River.
