Into the woods with BVB

Chapter 2

They had been walking for hours now. Avoiding thorns and nettles and jumping over fallen trees and bushes.
"We're lost!" CC moaned in dispair.
"Is there any way out?" Jinxx said.
"I knew it was a bad idea" said Jake.
"Sshhh..." Andy silenced them. They all listened.
"Can you here that?" CC asked.
"What could it be?" Ashley puzzled.
"Sounds like buzzing..." Jinxx said.
"Almost like the flapping of wings" CC added.
"Should we go and see what it is?" said Jake.
"No. It could be a wasps nest" Andy said.
"Doesn't sound like it" Ashley still sounded confused.
"I reckon we just go for it" Jinxx started to walk towards the noise.
"Lets follow him" Andy indicated, and off they went.

They came to a circle of trees with thick trunks. In the centre of them was a big roaring fire and they could here faint voices chanting;
"Ga nikslenockle. Daswee jobin. Shyronadweble kzoo necca brack!" (some strange ancient language).
They entered the circle to find to their horror a bunch of angry Fairy Bugs. These things look like fairies but have giant bug eyes and razor sharp teeth ready to suck your blood. They were never in a good mood and would happily see you dead if they got the chance. Since BVB had interrupted some kind of fairy ceremony, they were twice as eager to feast on their blood....
"Oh poo!" Ashley cried. "What do we do now?!" The 5 started backing into a corner as the fairies drew nearer, hissing while bearing their hideous fangs.
"I've read about them before" Jinxx started tapping his head.
"What did it say?! What did it say?!" the others said in chorus.
"Think. Think. Think." Jinxx continued tapping his head like Winnie the Pooh as he tried to remember what it said the fairies weakness was.
"We need an answer like NOW!!" CC pleaded. The anticipation was killing them as the fairies blocked all ways of escape.
"I've got it!!! Jinxx nearly screamed. "It's a musical forest!!! If you say the magic word then the instrument which is the villains weakness will appear!! Then you must use it to your own devices!"
"That's stupid" Jake said.
"That's messed up" said Ashley.
"We can at least try it!" said Jinxx. He faced the fairies and said in a loud voice "FORTISSIMO!!!!"
Then there was a faint tremor underground and before there very eyes a violin appeared.
"The fairies are enchanted and fall asleep whenever they hear violin music!" Jinxx instantly picked up the violin and started playing Overture from Wretched and Divine. There wasn't a moment to loose as the fairies were now sharpening their teeth for the kill.
"I can't believe this is happening" Jake looked around him in disbelief.
"Look! It's working" Andy said, relieved.
Sure enough the fairies appeared lousy and sloppy, and one by one they dropped to the ground fast asleep. They didn't look as mean anymore when they were sleeping.
Jinxx continued playing away, over and over until each one was completely asleep.
They decided it'd be best to get out of there, leaving the floor littered with the tiny bodies of the sleep induced Fairy Bugs.

"That was a close one" said Andy.
"Lets not go into tree circles again in future" sighed Ashley.
"Thank goodness I could play violin. Else we'd all be Fairy juice" Jinxx stated.
"Its weird cause I thought the stories about this place were mostly myths. Although I did believe that everyone died who entered this place" CC looked down at the muddy ground.
"Don't say that when we're already lost deep inside the woods" Jake said. No one replied but instead just silently trudged on.
