I raced downstairs greeted by the smell of my mom cooking dinner. I smiled loving the smell. "Mom, I'm going for a quick bike ride, be back in a few minutes." I say to her as I head to the front door. "Okay, well don't go out too far, and don't forget your phone." she says not taking off her eyes what she was doing.
I looked at my sister, Mae who was slouched on the coach scrolling through the channels on TV. We weren't actually related, she's my adopted sister. When I was around six years old she came to us from Argentina.
"You wanna come Mae?" I ask standing in front of the TV to get her attention.
"Nah, I'm good." She said leaning to the sides trying to watch the TV. I roll my eyes and step out of the way.
"Dad you want to come?" I ask turning to see he was still typing wildly a this computer. It was strange that he had a job with computers and stuff and the fact that we kind of lived in the middle of nowhere in Wyoming. Yet it's nice living all the way out here because of the mountains. "I can't Lucy, I'm really busy with work right tonight." He says also not looking away from what he was doing. Guess I was alone on this one.
I head outside and grab my bike really wishing I was old enough to drive, which was still three years away. I walked over to my bike hopping on and I started to pedal down our fairly long dirt driveway. I smiled listening to the sound of the crickets starting to come out. In away I was kind of glad I was going alone for my little bike ride, I enjoyed being alone. I watched as the sun was to set behind the tree and mountains.I had made it to the main back road which lead into the small town we lived "close too" called Freedom. Pretty much all that was there was a postoffice, a supermarket, a hardware store, a library, a McDonald's, a gift shop sort of thing, a gas station, and a few restaurants. I felt a buzz from my pocket and stopped pedaling. I propped up my bike with my foot and pulled my phone out. It was my mom texting me, telling me to start heading back. I was surprised how well the Internet was doing right now. I texted her back telling her I was on my way. I put my phone back in my pocket getting ready to start pedaling back.
Suddenly I hear the sound of a car from behind me. I pull over to the side of the road to let them pass. I waited patiently for the car to pass but it didn't seem like it was moving past me. I turn back around to see it was starting to pull over to the side of right behind me. As soon as I saw they were stopping near me I got off my bike and started to run. Yet it was too late, I could hear footsteps sprinting after me. I felt someone grab my arm and pull me back. I screamed trying to yank my arm away but then another hand grabbed my other other arm. "Help!" I scream but knowing it was no use, who would hear me all the way out here? I felt something cover my mouth as with a rag in their hand, it smelled really weird. I blinked seeing the world start to almost spin around me. Was I dreaming? Maybe this was just a nightmare and I was waking up. Yeah, yeah it was just a nightmare.
I felt my entire body start to relax without me forcing it too. I blink still somewhat seeing the world around me. I looked and saw that whoever grabbed me I believe were carrying me somewhere. It's just a bad dream, wake up, please please wake up. I blinked again seeing the world around me was still spinning but it was worse. Wake up, please wake up, its just a really bad dream. I felt myself slowly start to drift into darkness. It was like sinking in thick green water where there was no end. Suddenly everything went black.
