Chapter 09 - Touch
[Updated: 20/09/2015. Unedited]
(AN: I'm proud of the concept of this chapter (this chapter was actually my whole reason for this book, eheh ...) but the writing was rushed and untidy (in short: crap) because I had writers block but still wanted to update on time. Its very short as well; shorter than the others. I hope you like it anyway. Also, no update next week because I'm out of town.)

Exiting the room, Gray was immediately greeted by a dark haired boy. He was handsome in a rough kind of way, even Gray could tell. He was heavily built and dressed in thick black pants and a red vest that buckled around his waist. His eyes were like lava pits.

Gray stopped, 'Who are you?'

'Gray Fullbuster, you shouldn't be wandering around,' the man answered evasively. 'You were given that room for the night, but don't test the kindness of my father.'

'Your father,' Gray stared. 'You're Katsuro?'

Katsuro nodded and smirked, 'Not what you were expecting from Juvia's big brother?'

The ice mage felt a snarl begin to form on his face, but he pushed it down, saving it for later. Gray stormed up right under the other male's nose and the air grew colder.

'Where's Juvia?' he demanded.

'Jubie?' Katsuro repeated, unfazed. 'Didn't she tell you already? She wishes to stay here with her-'

'Don't give me that "stay with her family" bullshit!' Gray interrupted, seizing the shoulders of Katsuro's vest. 'Fairy Tail is Juvia's family and I know it! She would never chose to stay here!'

Katsuro's face darkened and he pulled back with a flat expression. Gray stepped backwards and pushed one foot further behind the other. He flexed his fingers as the tips grew icy.

'It would be better for you to leave now, I think,' it was a suggestion, but the warning undertone didn't go undetected.

'To hell with that!' Gray exclaimed. 'Tell me where she is, before I blast you to pieces.'

To make good his point, the ice mage crashed his fist into his open palm and a blue magic circle spurred up under his feet. Ice solidified into the shape of a canon, hooked over his shoulder.

Katsuro imitated his footing and raised his hands in front of his face, palms facing the Fairy Tail wizard. A blank expression was cause for Gray's irritation to grow until a blizzard stirred up inside his chest, tearing at his insides. Though he wasn't sure exactly why.

'Try it, Gray Fullbuster,' Katsuro dared. 'Try it.'

Gray charged with a shout.

Katsuro's hands flickered with black tongues of flame about as solid as shadows. They sputtered and poured from his skin, winding along the ground until the edges touched Gray's feet. The ice wizard froze in his tracks involuntarily.

Deliora was back.

Gray's skin ran cold as the huge beast bore down on him like before; like when he was small and helpless. A furious roar parted his hair, blowing a hot wind across his skin.

The glistening white fangs, the vaguely humanoid form of the towering beast; Gray's eyes widened as the feeling of death enveloped him. This time, he was going to die.

Gray sunk to his knees as the sky around him turned black and his home town crumbled. Rubble dug into his knees, biting at his exposed skin. Deliora roared again and the force pushed Gray back, tumbling through the ruins, over and over himself.
