Chapter 6: The Walls Fall Again (part 2)

Mary stood with all the people who witnessed the boy emerging from the titan except for the titan boy, the girl with the scarf, and the blond boy. The other people around them were chatting and grieving over losses.

"Jean, don't tell me Mikasa was hurt?" a girl called over from another group to the boy with the tan hair. Jean's face turned sour as he took a drink from his canteen.

"We were ordered to maintain secrecy. I can't tell you," Jean replied causing the people who asked to question his answer.

Mary frowned and began to walk away. She was going to jump the wall when no one was looking. She needed to get back over and clear out the titans. As she walked away the loud bang of a canon fire sounded. Mary turned to look in its direction and steam puffed up into the sky.

In an instant Mary was headed in the direction of the steam. She shot over the buildings and to the location of interest. The steam dissipated a little to reveal a semi titan, a head and an arm on an exposed ribcage. Mary watched as the boy again emerged from its neck in a puff of steam.

Mary looked into the steam carefully. She watched as the titan boy lifted a familiar key off of his chest and showed it to his comrades. She smiled and reached for her own, instantly knowing that is was the doctor's son and the girl with the scarf was probably his daughter.

The steam began to clear and the skeleton began to fall apart. When it had dissipated the blond boy stood in a surrender position and began to plead his friends case.

After the boy stopped speaking Mary smiled, but the smile was soon gone. The man in charge was too frightened to believe anything a told his men to prepare to attack. He said things like monsters hiding as humans and it seemed to hit Mary. She frowned sadly as she looked at the ground. She knew she was a monster, not human. Humans don't heal like Lumi and her do.

Suddenly the blond boy stood in a pose and shouted. "I am a solider who pledged his heart in order to resurrect humankind! If I parish while serving that pledge, I can ask for nothing more. By combining his 'titan power' with our remaining troop strength, it might even be possible to retake this town! In the name of glory for human kind in the few moments I have left to live I argue for his value as a fighting asset!" he shouted as he held his position. The soldiers around him seemed to light up, lose fear as he spoke and Mary's sorrow washed away.

The man in charged was still shrouded in fear as he lifted his arm to signal the cannon. Mary began to move to save the doctor's kids but was stopped. An older man stopped the man in charge's hand from coming down.

The old man's logic caused the tension that was building unknowingly in Mary to break. She slumped to her knees with a sigh of relief. She had been worried for the children of the doctor and they now sat before her safe.

Once Mary and every one else had calmed down, Mary ascended the wall. She rested near a giant bolder almost knowing that this was what they were going to use to bock up the hole. It would take ages to do it any other way and with the help of the titan boy they wont need to do it any other way.

After a while the group appeared. They flew in the direction of the bolder and when the titan boy reached it he bit into his hand. In a flash of light the boy was in his titan form.

Mary smiled but it was soon turned into a frown. Something was wrong. The titan boy wasn't acting human and he turned to the girl in the scarf. Her eyes became wide as she realized that the titan wasn't in the boy's control.

Mary began to panic as the titan brought its fist down on the girl with the scarf. Mary barely dodged the fist as she fell from the roof. She fell from the roof and landed wrong on her knee making a gash form. She silently cursed as she wrapped something around the wound to hide the inhuman healing.
