Max finally decided to get into the car after ten minutes of trying to convince him. As irritated as I was with him being so stubborn, I needed to remind myself that he was majorly wasted. Now, I'm just driving everyone back to their houses. I didn't even have to wake everyone up to ask where they live because Max and my bickering was apparently louder than we thought. But, almost as soon as Max got in the car, he passed out. I had dropped off almost everyone, except for Amber and Max. I started the long drive back to my house, Amber was staying the night at my house, but I had no idea what to do with Max.

"Heyyyyyyy Q..." Amber said with a small smile.

"Yes, Amber." I said trying not to laugh as she raised her eyebrows at me through the rear view mirror.

"I don't wanna go to your house, take me home, I wanna sleep in my own bed." She rambled on and continued to talk about how she missed her bed.

"Ok Amb, I'll take you home then." I muttered, while turning around because she lived the complete opposite way of me.

I completely forgot that Max was in the passengers seat because in the midst of Amber's endless chatter, Max shot up from his seat and whipped around to face Amber.

"OH MY LORD, IF YOU DO NOT SHUT UP I'M GOING TO COME BACK THERE AND PERSONALLY TAPE YOUR MOUTH SHUT." He screamed at her and then turned back around.

"Max chill out, she's just drunk, calm down. I guess you slept off all of the alcohol you drank, but Amber didn't ." I tried to stay calm while saying that because he was honestly freaking me out and I didn't want to set him off again.

"Where are you even taking me?" He looked at me annoyed and then kept poking my shoulder because I wouldn't answer him. Wasn't it obvious where we were going?

"Max, If you poke me one more time I swear I'm going to-"

"What? Please explain to me what you would possibly do to me." He sneered, cutting me off.

"She'd probably kiss you! She likes you a lot!" Amber exclaimed from the back.

"Would she now? hmm, I might keep poking her then." Max smirked and I couldn't help the blush crept onto my face.

I pulled up in front of Amber's house, and even though I offered to walk her inside multiple times, she got out of the car and proudly walked inside by herself.

"This car really smells like alcohol." Max muttered.

"I mean, it's not like I just had nine drunk people in it or anything." I mumbled back under my breath.

"So are we just gonna sit here and talk about how bad your car smells, or are we going to roll the windows down and go somewhere?" Max said while sitting up in his seat and looking over at me with raised eyebrows.

I didn't really know what to say. I probably should take Max home and then go home myself because it's already passed midnight. But on the other hand, what if we go and do something really crazy and exciting? I mean I guess it couldn't hurt, as long as we didn't do anything illegal, and plus my parents weren't home to yell at me for being out passed curfew. But what if-

"Excuse me, I hate to interrupt the internal battle you're having with yourself, but just sitting here in silence is really ruining my night." He said.

"I guess we can do something, just nothing..uh..illegal." I said quickly, so I could minimize my embarrassment. I looked over to see Max staring at me, the smirk on his face almost turning into a smile.

"Nothing illegal?" He said while chuckling. "Ok, deal."

"Deal." I agreed with a small smile.

----

"Max, I don't think this is very safe." I said slowly while climbing up the ladder, if you could even call it a ladder.

"Quinn, It's ok trust me, I do this all the time." He assured me.

"I'm scared, I can't do this, what if I fall and die?" I rambled.

"Do you really think I'd let you go up there if I thought you would fall and die?" He said. "I know you don't know me all too well, babe, but even I wouldn't do that to you."

"Ok,  I trust you." I said as I started climbing again, we were almost halfway up.

"Just keeping talking, it'll distract you." I did as he said and before I knew it, we were at the top.

Here we were, Max and Quinn, standing on Cresent City's water tower. My adrenaline was pumping, even more than in a softball game. After a few minutes of me looking around and practically drooling over the view, I realized Max was still here with me and he hasn't said anything since we got up here.

"So.... what do we do now?" I asked, still staring at the view.

"I mean, normally I just come up here by myself and think about stuff, so I don't really know." He said while walking over and standing next to me. "Anything you wanna do?" He raised his eyebrows suggestively.

"Gross, Max." I rolled my eyes. Do you just wanna talk? There isn't really anything to do except that. I mean or we could just sit here, I know you're not really into talking and stuff."

"Nah, it's fine, what do you wanna talk about?" He asked, taking me by surprised.

"Just anything I guess, we hardly know anything about each other so we have a lot we can talk about."

"Ok well what's your favorite color?" He walked over and sat down on the thick ledge.

"White, I think it's one of the more underappreciated colors of the rainbow. What about you?"

"I think I would have to say dark green, there's no thought out reason, I just like it." He said and we both exploded into a fit of laughter.

"Ok, in all seriousness, what about the future? Do you plan on going to college?" I asked, while looking over at him, only to see that his eyes were already on me.

"I don't really know, I was thinking about joining the army, but I-"

"You wanna join the army?!" I practically yelled in his ear.

"Yah, I can't afford college, and the army was the next best thing." He stated, staring at the now rising sun. "I assume you're going to college so which one?"

"Well you're right about that, but I haven't really decided which one yet. I might take a gap year." I said while playing with the strings of my shoes.

"Really? You haven't decided yet? You seem like the kinda person who would have it all together."

"I mean haven't you learned yet, that I'm not what I seem?" I said with a smile.

"You got me there, I guess you're right."

"Anyways, your senior year is ending in a few months too! Aren't you excited?" I nearly shouted.

"Please, I honestly can't wait to leave this nowhere town. I plan on moving out of here and going to North Carolina. From then on, I'll probably be in the army or navy." He said, and I could literally see his eyes light up as he talked about leaving.

"Well don't miss me too much, I know It'll be hard." I smirked at him.

"It'll be the hardest thing I'll ever do."  He says, which makes both of us burst into laughter again, for what seems like the hundredth time tonight.

That's how our night went, with us laughing profusely and talking about everything and anything. I think I could get used to this.
