This was it, today was the day, Friday. I literally slept for about 5 minutes last night because I'm so nervous. Max and I have been talking pretty much everyday this week and the vibe is good, a lot better then guys I've talked to before. We're not talking about anything serious, mostly about baseball and softball, and some about our personal lives. It's 11am now so I have awhile before I start to get ready. Part of me wanted to try and sleep again, but the other part knew that wasn't happening and wanted to go get a smoothie from Jenga Juice. I decided to go with the part of me that wanted a smoothie, and grabbed my keys. I had on a sweatshirt, Nike sweatpants, and black crocs; it's clearly a bum day. After I started the car, I put my phone on "Do Not Disturb" and plugged my phone into the aux cord, starting my playlist off with "Medicine" by Queen Naija. I pulled out of the drive way, pressing the garage clicker to close it, and started the thirty minute ride to Jenga Juice.

I ordered my usual, a strawberry, banana, and mango smoothie with coconut milk. I walked back to my car and decided I wanted to just ride around with my windows down, music blasting, down some back roads; cliche I know. I was just really anxious and I needed to relax myself before tonight's plans got any closer. I kept my phone on "Do Not Disturb" because it was nice to not here it go off every couple minutes. Before I left the parking lot, I turned on "Space For Two" by Mr. Probz and then started my journey with no destination.

After about 4 hours of driving around, I could probably tell you exactly where everything was on the south side of town, and I was out of smoothie to drink. So I figured it was time to head home, sadly. While on the way home, I started to overthink about what I bought from the mall earlier this week. What if it was too much? What if I chose a too "dressy" outfit? What if Max doesn't even show up?! Oh gosh, I'd be so embarrassed. My overthinking must've occupied enough time because I was pulling into my driveway at 5pm, leaving three hours to get ready. I called Amber and told her to start heading this way, to help me get ready. I opened the garage, pulled in, and got out of the car. I headed inside and went straight to the pantry for a snack. I chose goldfish over doritos because they would be easier to eat while Amber did my hair. I went upstairs to my room and began doing my make up. Before I sat down at my desk to begin, I wen to the hallway bathroom and washed my face. Usually I wash my face with a soap bar, because I don't have much acne or other skin issues. But today I decided I was gonna use the normal soap bar, but after I washed my face, I'd put on a sheet mask that I got from Victoria's Secret. I had to leave this face mask on for 30 minutes so I turned on Pandora, laid down in my bed, and started scrolling through my Twitter feed. 30 minutes literally flew by because before I knew it my alarm to take the mask off went off. I went to the bathroom, peeled it off, rubbed in the excess stuff, and headed back to my room. Now it was time to actually get started on getting ready. I sat down at my desk and changed my pandora station to Cardi B so I could get pumped. Nothing too fancy for my eyes, just some simple ombré eye shadow with thin eyeliner and mascara. I kept my face simple as well, using Clinique's medium coverage foundation in the shade 02 Silk Shell, the lightest shade of Tarte's shape tape for concealer, and some random setting powder I found. Right as I finished setting my face, Amber ripped open my door and practically gave me a heart attack.
"Let's get this show on the road!" she said with a huge smile.
She plugged in a curler, and emptied out a whole bag filled with hair spray, hair protectors, and cute little rubber bands. She tilted my head back, split my hair down the middle, and then sectioned off to even pieces at the top. Amber then started to braid those pieces of hair into two cute dutch braids, and secured them with a clear rubber band. She then started section off the bottom of my hair to begin curling it. Let's just say, I have a lot of hair and it's very thick, so this took about an hour. The whole time I watched dog rescue stories on facebook, and remembered to take my phone off "Do Not Disturb". She finally finished and did a light spray of hair spray all around my head. It was about 7:40 when she finished so I had to quickly get dressed and find my Alex and Ani bracelets to wear. I put on the outfit I picked, a dark green crop top, light denim skinny jeans with rips, and my black converse. It was simple, but for someone whom usually wears leggings and sweatshirts, I still felt like I was overdressed. I walked out of my closet and showed Amber what I looked like, and she reassured my worries and said I looked great. It was 7:55 now and I was getting more and more anxious, I slipped on my bracelets and popped a piece of mint gum into my mouth. Amber and I both headed downstairs.
"Ok I'm going to leave, have fun tonight, but not too much." She said with a wink.
"Shut up!" I exclaimed while laughing.
She gave me a hug and walked out the front door, closing it behind her. It was exactly 8:01, and I had to reassure myself that Max was going to show up, it's only a minute late.
I went to sit down on the couch and decided to watch episode 19 of season 19 of Law and Order: SVU.

Remembering my phone was charging upstairs, I paused the show and went up there to get it. Walking back down the stairs, I checked the time, it was 8:30....
Max still wasn't here.—————-
