Reflections-Naruto FanFic (Itachi x Sakura)

Chapter 5

  "One miso ramen please!" A cheerful voice said as they sat down in between two other people. Slurping up noodles, bright cerulean eyes sparkled against the sun as he greeted in between bites of ramen.

  "Morning Sakura-chan!"

  "Yo."

  Sakura greeted Naruto and Kakashi as she received her bowl of ramen. Muttering a quick 'itadakimasu' to herself, she dug in and listened to Naruto's rambling of his training yesterday.

  "I totally kicked Sai's ass with that new jutsu! It was all thanks to Kaka-sensei teaching me..." Sakura tuned out his voice as he began to blab about the way he defeated Sai. Her ears perked up like a cat when she heard Kakashi-sensei had taught Naruto a new jutsu.

  "Kaka-sensei?" She asked, trying to get his attention away from his book, Come Come Paradise.

  "Hm?"

  "Can you teach me a new jutsu please?"

  Sakura waited. Kakashi looked down at his female student, letting his eyes scan over the words on the book a few more times, he closed it, sighing. Purposefully, he ignored the way her emerald eyes shined like the sun, filled with hope. He noticed the way she pouted her lips, trying to make him give in. Pushing the guilt aside, he said to her.

  "I'm sorry Sakura, I'm busy today, maybe next time."

  "That's what you said last time sensei! You even taught Naruto and maybe even Sai too but why not me!" She cried in confusion.

  "Sak-"

  "Kakashi-sensei?" A voice interrupted.

  "Ino-pig? What are you doing here?"

  "None of your business Forehead. Asuma-sensei asked me to find Kakashi-sensei to help me perfect this jutsu."

  Kakashi hopped off his stool and walked over to Ino, but not before ruffling Sakura's hair and smiling beneath his mask. "Next time, I promise."

  Sakura looked stunned at what had just happened. 'Why would you train my rival but not your own student!' She thought, incredibly confused and hurt, but hid it with a forced smile and nodded. Sighing, she flattened her ruffled hair and decided to try again the next day.

But the same thing seemed to repeat over and over. It was always excused.

  "Sorry Sakura, I have a mission."

  "Sorry Sakura, the Hokage just summoned me."

  "Sorry Sakura, Naruto asked me to help perfect his chakra control. Maybe next time."

  The last excuse broke her, for her teacher would rather help her teammate than her. She smiled through the hurt and pain, and just nodded like she didn't feel anything. Sakura wasn't quite sure when it started, perhaps ever since she began training by herself more and more, that Yamato had joined her and comforted her every time Kakashi rejected her. She would always fall asleep after training with the brunette, and she would always wake up to the sound of his voice calling her name telling her to wake up.

  "Sakura, wake up."

  Just like this.

  "Wake up!"

  That isn't his voice... It isn't suppose to be full of panic...

  "Sakura, wake up!"

  Eyes widened in shock, a gasp escaping her mouth when she realised that it was a dream. She must have fell asleep at some point when reading the scroll. Sakura found Kakashi's black eye staring at her in concern. 'So he released the henge...' She observed.

  "I'm fine, please go check on the others." She told him, looking away from and down at her hands. When no movement was made, she stared at him, her commanding side taking over. "Go Hatake. We will leave as soon as possible."

  Kakashi nodded, having no choice but to obey, though his mind was full of thoughts on what had just happened.

  Once the door closed, Sakura let out a sigh of relief and rubbed her eyes, getting off the bed she got ready. Staring at the mirror one last time, making sure she has her henge on, she thought to herself.

  'Never again. They don't deserve anything from me.'
