James's POV

"We're here." Eldon sighed as we pulled up outside the hotel we were staying at.

It had taken us 2 hours longer than expected, after the whole car break down, but we were finally here at Nationals and I couldn't wait.

We had a spare day tomorrow to do what we liked. Eldon had his solo the day after and, if we got through, the boys and I had our small group. The day after that huntmily, who had gotten back together after Amanda had left, had their duet and Michelle had her solo. Then the first and, hopefully, second group dance, would come in the days after.

The car ride down had been quiet and extremely awkward. The boys hadn't spoken a word to me since I had gotten in, and Riley hadn't said anything either. I was so relived that we had arrived so I could find out why the boys were acting so weird...

All 5 of us, the boys, Riley and I, got out of the car and grabbed our bags, making our way to the reception of the hotel. We were met with a very unhappy looking Kate.

"Where have you been? We've been waiting for you for 2 hours!" She shouted.

"Someone's car broke down." Eldon sighed, looking at me.

"Whose car broke down?" Kate asked, clearly not getting the hint.

"Mine." I replied.

"What happened? Is everyone okay? What happened to the car?" She asked.

"It broke down, we're fine and the cars getting towed. Don't even worry about it." I told her.

"Right now that you guys are here. We need to sort out the rooms." Phoebe announced.

"Okay so in one room, James, Eldon, Hunter and West.." I ignored what Miss Kate was saying after she had said what room I was in. I was too busy staring at Riley, not fully believing what had happened in the car earlier. I had always thought that she had hated me.. But judging how she was earlier I knew that it wasn't true.. But the only problem was that she had been ignoring me.. I wasn't sure why.. Maybe she was embarrassed about being caught by the boys, or maybe she regretted making out with me? I wasn't sure but I knew that I needed to talk to her to find out..

The boys and I hauled our luggage up the 3 flights of stairs, since the girls had bagged the lift, to our room.

"So um... you and Riley?" Eldon asked.

"Yeah." I replied, awkwardly.

"I did not know you two were hooking up."He chuckled.

"We're not, we only made out once. She doesn't like me like that. She doesn't like me at all actually." I told him.

"What about you? Do you have any feelings for her?" He asked. West and Hunter stopped what they were doing and stared at me, waiting for an answer.

"Um.. no.. course not.." The boys raised their eyebrows. "Okay maybe just a little." I sighed, a smirk appearing on their faces. "She's hot okay?!"

"I'm pretty sure that's not the only reason. I think you like like her." West smirked.

"No I-"

"He likes her, he actually likes her!" Hunter shouted making the rest of the boys laugh.

"Screw you." I said, getting really annoyed with them.

"I'm sure you would love Riley to do that." West chuckled.

"You guys suck." I sighed, collapsing on one of the two single beds that I had managed to bag.

"Bet you-"

"Just stop okay, I know you all think it's hilarious that I kinda like her but stop with the sexual jokes."

But of course, the boys being boys, continued to make jokes. I rolled my eyes, knowing that they weren't going to stop anytime soon...

A few hours later and I had managed to get Riley alone.

"What do you want?" She snapped, folding her arms as she stood with her back against the wall.

"Just to talk to you."

"So basically... I have to ditch shopping with the girls because you want to talk to me. Wow this is ridiculous." She said, rolling her eyes at me. "What do you even want to say to me? We have literally nothing to talk about."

"We need to talk about us." I sighed.

"Us? There is no such thing as us." She snapped.

"Riley seriously what's wrong with you?" I asked, getting annoyed with the way she was acting.

"What?"

"A few hours ago we were making out in the front seat of my car and now your acting like it never happened." I sighed.

"I just don't want anyone to know." She muttered, looking down at her feet.

"Why? Are you like embarrassed or something?"

"Well.. erm.. in a way.. yeah... kind of..." She admitted.

"What? Why?" I asked, shocked. "I'm pretty hot, if I do say so myself, so why would you need to be embarrassed?.. Wait I'm hot right?"

"Um yeah I guess."

"Phew okay that's good because-"

"James can you stop talking for 5 minutes, I'm trying to talk to you!" She shouted.

"Sorry babe."

"Okay as I was saying if anyone, well any of the girls, knew that we made out then... I don't know... they wouldn't be very happy. I mean they did tell me to stay away from you because you're a player and stuff.. so um.. yeah that's pretty much why.. yeah..." She trailed off.

"Riley I've changed, I'm not a player anymore I promise." I told her.

"Of course you have, it's not like you just cheated on your girlfriend." She said sarcastically.

"I don't even like Beth." I sighed.

"So? You still cheated on her.. That proves your still a player. That's why no one is going to find out about this." She said, walking towards the door.

"Wait Riley!" I shouted, grabbing her wrist before she could leave.

"What?"

"I can prove you wrong, that I'm not a player." I told her.

"And how are you gonna do that exactly?" She asked.

"By doing this." I smirked, leaning in towards her before connecting our lips. She didn't kiss back at first but she soon got into it and kissed back even harder than I was.

"I still don't believe you." She mumbled, her lips still against mine.

"I'm working on it." I chuckled, kissing my way down her jaw and neck.

She giggled. "Well hurry up, I have shopping to do."

I smirked against her neck before sucking and biting on it leaving a smallish hickey.

"Oops."

I moved my lips back up to meet hers and we kissed until the door swung open.

"Erm what's going on?"

"Oh shit Beth."
