A/N: Hi! I am sorry but this is a filler chapter! Thank you so much for some of your nice comments about this fic, it's my first fanfiction and Spezra is my guilty pleasure (even though I am obsessed with Spoby and Ezria) and is probably a crackship... But anyway please carry on reviewing it makes me update much quicker! Xxx
Spencer was sitting on her bed. Studying. Any other person would be partying or making the most out of the last day of their summer vacation. But, Spencer did find Russian History quite intriguing...No, she usually did when she was smart, stubborn, pretty Spencer Hastings. And on that day, she wished she could be someone else. Maybe just for an hour. She just wanted a break from 'Planet Alison', which she still happened to be on. But she couldn't release herself from it. From Alison. From herself. She took a deep breath, closed her book and fell back onto her bed with her arms spread out wide. She had already had this conversation with herself.
Spencer was coping surprisingly well, despite the above, with it being the anniversary of Alison's disappearance. No one in the Hastings household had said a word about it. It was a huge hush-hush taboo subject and whenever someone even mildly brought it up everyone stared at Spencer. Spencer thought it was because they thought that it was a very sensitive topic for Spencer- which it was. But for some reason Spencer felt the most bizarre sensation as if- as if she was still here. Alison. She knew it was crazy but Spencer still thought Alison was alive...and she couldn't deny it.
Spencer felt a small buzz in her hand. She switched on her phone and saw she had a message. Her eyes widened as she scanned the phone screen.
'Hey! This is Ezra. Call me?'
Spencer grinned. And there was also Ezra.
After talking to him at Snookers, Ezra received an urgent call needing him to go to the hospital as his mother had broken her ankle. Before he left, Spencer gave Ezra her number, in the hope that he would call her. He made her smile, which no one had done in the past month. When she was with him at the bar, she felt like a different Spencer Hastings- but it didn't feel wrong at all. She sighed and then added Ezra to her contacts. And then suddenly realised she didn't even know his second name. Or how old he was. Or what his favourite colour was. How could she feel like that about someone she just met? How did she know that this wasn't just one sided? He was gorgeous- how did she know that he's not like that with all the girls? How did she know that it wasn't just a cruel joke by someone who hated Ali and decided to take it out on Spencer? She was sure that she was being very delusional, but decided that she had to trust Ezra. After Ali went missing, Spencer trusted no-one. But she had to give Ezra a chance. She had to at least tell him who she actually was. She pressed 'CALL EZRA' on her cellphone.
"Hey," She almost whispered.
"Hey." He said.
"How is your mother?"
"Oh she's fine. She sprained her ankle after falling on some coffee she had forgotten to clear up. She insists she's fine but the doctors want to do another X-Ray test, just to make sure." He said, sounding slightly annoyed.
"Sounds like my mother." Spencer replied, grinning. "She would find it outrageous how they were wasting her money."
"Well at least somebody else understands my pain." Ezra said
"Ezra." Spencer said quietly, with a lump beginning to form in her throat. She could lie to him, but if Spencer actually wanted to be with him, she had to be honest.
"Spencer?" He replied slowly. "Are you okay?"
"I need to tell you something." Spencer took a deep breath. "I... Would like it if we can organise something." She babbled. Damn it! She was supposed to tell him she was a friend of the missing girl, Alison DiLaurentis. And how everything after she disappeared made her feel empty and hollow. She always had to screw things up didn't she?
