Chapter 2- Damn Ghouls

Nishiki's POV

The ghoul in my arm jumps off of my chest and pushes me down. Ok you little bastard. Lets play. To bad they have to die. They seemed terribly nice.

"I'm coming for you Nishiki. You must taste amazing."

I punch them right in the face and make them fly into a wall. They pop there little head up again and, well there starving. There one eye has the brightest veins I have ever seen. What was weird is that they went down to there neck. I've never seen some freaky shit like that.

They stumbled up to stand, somewhat, and looked at me with a crazed expression. This ghoul must not have eaten in months to be this starving. The ghouls kagune is released and for how little energy they had it's huge! It was like a blue jay's wing in a way the only difference is it looked like the night sky as it was turning from light to dark but the light was long missed. Also they have what seems to be two blades. They curl around the ghouls arm and leg. Damn, they must be strong as shit. My kagune wont be of much help so I'll have to run them out of energy.

"I can smell your fear. It smells amazing!"

They run at me like a fired bullet. I dodged the attack but I still got a gouge of my arm missing.

"Dammit you little bitch!"

I run back at the ghoul and they don't have the flesh. They had there mouth open and swallowed it whole. The ghoul takes there hand and wipes the blood off their cheek. Some of the sanity must of been returned to them.

"You do taste amazing. I wish I could eat two of you instead of one."

They smile this evil grin and take the kagune off their leg and shoot it towards me. I try to dodge it but it pierces me in the stomach. Blood dribbles from my mouth. Goddammit! Why can't I dodge any of this shit! Kaneki is suppose to be the best and I can at least dodge some of his attacks.

They pull in there kagune with their hands and grins even wider. I try to escape but the blade wrapped around my body and every time I move I get sliced up.

"Get off me you little fucker!"

"Why? You already done playing? What a shame. I'll just kill you quickly then."

They pull me in close, face to face. The ghoul takes a deep breath and they start crying. Some of the veins are receding but the ghoul held up the other blade to my head.

"I'm going to eat your brain first. It smells great. Not as great as your heart but save the best for last."

Their veins are quickly receding now. This ghoul must unconsciously be fighting to not kill me. But why? They don't know me.

The veins are fighting each other now. Going away and coming back more vivid every time. Either way there is no chance but to kill them. I reach out and I scratch there face and try to gouge out the eyes.

"Gahh! Fucker! I need those."

I keep digging until they release me from their grasp. I run as fast as I go and jump on top of a building. I look down on this hungry son of a bitch.

They are already healed and looking for me. They take a sniff and limp to the other ally.

"Finally," I sigh.

Then out of nowhere the blade pops into my back and pulls out a chunk of my shoulder blade. Another one comes and pulls out my other arm completely.

"Ahhh! Come out asshole and fight like a real ghoul!"

I limp over to the edge of the building and see the ghoul having a feast of a bunch of arms, legs and even random chunks of meat. Some human and some ghoul. The human chunks are a lot smaller than the ghouls for some reason. Ghoul I heard taste disgusting and human tastes amazing, I know that for sure.

The ghoul is crying even harder and is whimpering after the pile is gone the kagune recedes and the ghoul lays on the ground and cries.

"I hate this! Why couldn't I just kill one stinking human! Now I hurt them all! Ghoul or human their food. I fucking hate it! I just want to die!"

They grab there face and bawl uncontrollably. Their voice is a sweet as a heavenly melody. Wait no its not. They tried to eat me. I hate them. Trust no one. No one.

They get up and I see that they are still limping. They limp to a ladder on the same roof as mine and I head to jump down but I can't. What will happen to them?

I hide behind a metal box and wait. The clang of metal comes close as the ghoul hops of the ladder. I peek over the box and see the ghoul stand on the side of the building and look down. They lift a foot off the ledge and I jump out.

"What the hell are you doing?!"

They turn back and the one I can see their eyes are normal. So they are sane?

"Don't jump off. You may have tried to eat me but I don't think you should jump because of it. It's not your fault. A ghoul needs to eat."

They look back at me and their eyes are full of tears and they frown at me and start to cry harder.

"I don't want to eat anymore don't you get it jackass. What do you not understand or is your head to damaged from me?!"

"I can help you get food when you need it. I work at a café called Anteiku and you could work there."

"You don't understand. You won't ever."

"Why won't I understand?"

"I ate yesterday."

They ate yesterday? How hungry is this son of a bitch?!

"How much did you eat?"

"Oh a few chunks of this and that."

"So you should have been good. How much did you eat before?"

"Before yesterday I haven't eaten in two months."

"Two months! That's not healthy man. Once a month should keep you at least sane."

They stop talking and turn away from me and look back down on the world below. I hate being the hero but I don't want to see a ghoul suffer like this. It's not ok no matter who it is.

"If you don't jump you can come with me and I can get you help. Don't worry. I wont tell anyone what happened. I promise I'll keep you safe."

They don't respond as there knees buckle and there limp body goes tumbling off the building.

"Noooo!"

I get my kagune and hold on to the ledge. I jump off the building and tumble down to there body. I don't think I'll be able to catch them. I may have made them too weak to even stand. I may have killed them. I killed them. Like Kimi. No, I cant kill two innocent people in one night.

My eyes are full of tears as I fall to either the death of another innocent ghoul that could have been prevented or the death of two if my kagune is too weak to hold us both.
