Hello! Thank you for checking out this story, I hope it's something you find you enjoy.
I just wanted to warn any of you that this was one of my very first attempts at writing and something that I thoroughly enjoyed working on, but when I look back I realise it wasn't at all structured or edited as much as it should've been. So please keep that in mind! There's probably a bucket load of cringe coming your way if you decide to keep reading.
Despite all of that, I hope you fall in love with Justin and Mason as deeply as I did. Enjoy!💗

I smiled whilst looking around the quaint cafe as I arrived through the double doors. I couldn't help but feel at home, it was a quiet place where people can come and sit either alone or with partners or friends. It was everything I liked.

The whole atmosphere was inviting; bright but calm lighting sets around the whole place, the faint noise of conversations and the sound of various different beverages being prepared filled your ears the second you set foot inside. And I was lucky enough to have the enjoyment of working here five days a week.

I was lucky; a lot of people don't seem to enjoy their jobs but me? I loved it. I worked at a small cafe in a busy part of New Jersey called The Hideout. It was so subtle that if you walked down the street, there's a chance you'd miss it completely.

"Excuse me, miss?"

I was taken out of my daydream by the voice of a young lady calling for me. It seemed I was daydreaming for quite a while because she had a look of annoyance written on her face.

She was tight lipped and looked fairly old. She seemed to look at me in a degrading way, I felt myself frown slightly but decided to not let it bother me.

"Oh, I'm sorry. It's been a long day," I chuckled, quickly lying. "What can I get for you?" I smiled sweetly at her, adding emphasis to my apology.

"Just a regular coffee will do." The smallest of smiles appeared on her lips. While making her coffee, I noticed she glanced around at the room as though she was here against her will and I frowned once again.

Handing the hot coffee over to her, my fingers caught hers and I felt the ice cold skin touch my own. I watched as she walked away to take a seat by the window after paying.

"I see you were daydreaming again?" I turned to see Frankie grinning at me.

Frankie was tall. No matter who he was around, he hung over them with ease. And it didn't help that he was as skinny as a twig; in fact, it only makes his tallness more obvious. He had a pointed nose with a strong jaw.

"Of course not," I said, turning away from him to wipe down the surface of the counter with the white rag in my hand.

"Okay." I could feel he kept his stare on me, a toothy grin was most likely resting on his face now. We worked in silence as I cleaned the surface and he cleaned the coffee maker.

I haven't known Frankie for long but over the short space we've worked together we've become quite close and it turned out he became my favourite person.

It got to the usual time of 6:30 and I knew my shift was over. Like everyday, I go home to a warm, cosy apartment in a quiet part of New Jersey, unlike where I work.

When I unlock the door, I'm greeted by my cat, Rubble. He rubs his head against my leg while he purrs softly.

He's a tabby cat, I rescued him from a shelter last year. When I saw him, I instantly fell in love, he wasn't the most beautiful looking cat but I always fall in love with imperfect. He loves belly rubs and late night cuddles with me, he's been my best friend ever since I got him.

My life was simple and I loved it.
