Ruby's POV

Frank pulled away slowly and pressed his forehead against mine, breathing in deeply. A small smile played around his lips. "Let's get you home," he whispered just as rain started to fall, making rainbows appear in the streetlight. The moment like a scene from a film; "wait," I called out just as he started to turn back towards the car.

"What is it? Is something wrong?" he asked panicked. The rain began to pour and water dripped from his brow, making paths down his face and passed his eyes. Dim moonlight revealed his strong jaw, cheek bones, glowing hazel eyes and all the other features of his face.

I realised I had been staring as he hurried towards me and cupped my hands in his, "Ruby? You look like you've seen a gh-"

"I love you," I said feeling pressure leave my shoulders, "I love you Frank Iero." And that was that. Id said it. Maybe it was too soon, maybe I should have waited until I was sure he felt the same; but I didn't care. The instant the words had left my lips, a weight I'd been carrying had been freed and I was glad.

Frank looked surprised, to say the least. But at the same time happy. In the seconds that followed, silence hung heavy in the air as I waited for his reply. In that moment, I was either going to laugh or cry and a hopeful smile crept onto my lips. "Really," he asked, wide eyed like a puppy, I nodded. "I love you too, Ruby. So much. I always will." He said sincerely as he looked me in the eyes. He studied me as I looked at him, it felt like he was examining me; seeing further than the surface.

The street melted away around us as I focused on him and only him. He stroked my waist gently, concentration thick on his face; smirking as he began to play with his lip ring. My heart started to race and Frank leaned in closer and kissed me cautiously, he held me close to him as he deepened the kiss; I wrapped my hands around his neck, tangling my fingers in his hair. I kissed back urgently knowing how much I needed him. He walked forward pressing me up against the wall, our lips never leaving each other's.

Eventually, he loosened his grip and pulled away, "Maybe we could... go back to the flat? You and me?" he suggested quietly, getting his breath back. I really wanted to say yes but I wasn't sure if I was ready; tonight had been a big step for me.

"I would, really Frank, I just don't want to go too fast - is that okay?" I asked, playing with his belt loop.

"Of course, whenever you're ready," he replied. Unlike so many people I had run into and heard stories of in the past, he was considerate and caring: not just about himself but the other person too. He was a great guy, one of the best.

Hand in hand, we walked back towards the car and only let go as we began to climb in. Putting the vehicle in gear, he asked about directions to my house and I told him where we had to go. My house wasn't in the worst part of Jersey, it was an okay neighborhood but not so safe that you'd want to leave the house at night.

We rounded the corner and I pointed to my house, Frank parked the car round the block so my Mom wouldn't see me being dropped off by someone she didn't know. He exited the car gracefully and walked round to my side; he opened the door and bowed slightly like an extremely short chauffeur. "Ma'am," he said in his best British accent. I grinned as I swung my legs out of the car and took his hand, he pulled me up into a hug.

"Today was amazing, thank you Frank," I smiled, my words turned into a small cloud as they hit the midnight air.

"We can do this all over again some other time," he said hitting my arm "I love you Ruby."

"I love you too Frankie," I said certainly. Raising an eyebrow at my use of his nickname, he pushed me towards my home, urging me to go. Reluctantly, I turned and walked away, tonight had been a great day and that was all down to Frank.

"Call me! Oh and good luck with your Mom!" he shouted, a smile in his voice; I turned and grinned. He was so adorable.

From my pocket, I took my keys and went to unlock the front door but hesitated when I realised that Mom could still be awake and downstairs - waiting for me. Instead, I decided to climb up to my window on the pipes. I'd done this several times before to hide the fact that I'd been missing for the evening.

With ninja-like stealth, I sneaked round to the other side of my house where my bedroom was and climbed up the uneven brick work which acted as foot and hand holes. About a quarter of the way up, I swung across to the black piping that ran to just under my window. I held onto the gutter with my hands and walked up the wall until I reached my window sill.

I grabbed onto the ledge and pulled myself up. The pipe had been worryingly loose and I made a mental note to fix it at some point. I usually left my window unlocked despite endless warning from my Mother and so pushed it open, swinging a leg inside. I hauled myself in- tired from the effort.

Cautiously, I walked across my room and toward the light. The room filled with a bright glow as I flicked the switch; I thought of all the details from this afternoon and savoured the memories. Suddenly my mood was interrupted: I turned to see a figure sitting on my bed. Someone far worse than any threat I'd ever been warned about. There, on the bed sat my Mother.

"I think we need to have a little chat," she whispered, glaring.
