Chapter 3

I wake up feeling very sore and slightly painful. I try to sit up and groan from the pain I felt in my stomach. Someone places a hand gently on my shoulder and pushes me down. I look at the person and see it's Rien.

"Just lay down" he tells me. I blink at him and remain lying down. I open my mouth to speak, but no sound comes out. I try again and I manage to say, "Hey, how are you...?" he smiles and says, "I'm fine. You should worry about yourself."

I smile slightly and close my eyes for a second. I open them again and Rien says, "I'll be back. I need to get this wound treated." he then points to his wound. I nod slightly and he leaves the room.

I let out a shaky breath an dclose my eyes again. After a few minutes, I feel a hand on my arm. I open my eyes to see Leanne with her eyes closed. I feel a hot and cold sensation go through my body.

I look at her as I feel the wound and bite mark heal. When she opens her eyes, I smile at her, "Thank you." She smiles back, says, "No problem" and then leaves.

I sit up and let out a breath. I get off the infirmary bed and just stand. Then Rien comes in. His eyes widen slightly and he rushes to my side. "You shouldn't be standing" he tells me sternly. I chuckle and say, "I'm fine" then I point at my bite mark free neck. He looks at my neck and then touches it.

"What about your stomach?" he asks.

I bite my lip and lift my sihrt up slightly to reveal my stomach. I look at my stomach and see that it's smooth and free of any injury. I blush bright red when he traces his fingers along my stomach.

"Th-that's just...how...??" I hear him whisper as he continues to touch my stomach where the wound was supposed to be.

"U-umm... R-R-Rien... c-could you... urmm..." I stammer. My face probably the colour of a tomato.

He blinks at me and I point to his fingers that are still on my stomach. He glances at his fingera and my stomach then his eyes widen in realization. He pulls his hand back and turns a bright red as well.

I pull my shirt down and he says, "S-s-sorry" then he looks away from me. I fiddle with the hem of my shirt and look down, "Don't worry..."

We remain quiet and then he says, "I.... urm... have to go now." Then he leaves the room.  I let out a shaky breath and leave the room as well.

As I walk the halls of the academy, people look at me with wide eyes. I raise an eyebrow and then I'm suddenly pulled into a bone-crushing hug by Maya.

"OH MY GOSH!! You're alive and alright!"

I return her hug and say, "Yeah..."

"The doctor said you might not make it" Maya says. I pat her on the back and say, "Well they were wrong!" Then I smile at her. She smiles widely back at me and then asks, "So was Rien in your infirmary room when you woke up?"

I blush slightly, remembering what happened then I nod my head. She raises an eyebrow and tilts her head to the side. "Why are you blushing...?" I shake my head and say, "It's nothing..." She continues to look at me and asks, "Did something happen between you two?"

"N-no"

She smirks, "What happened?"

"N-nothing! He just... uhh... trailed his fingers on my stomach cause he... was surprised the wound was gone. That's it!"

"Ahh..." she then nods and begins to laugh.

After that little laugh and whatever, we headed to the cafeteria. On the way there, we met a girl named Kat. She was nice and pretty funny. We asked her if she'd like to join us but she said she already has plans. We parted from her and entered the cafeteria.

We grabbed foor and sat at a table near the window. I ate and then suddenly I got a stomach ache. I put a hand on my stomach and tell Maya that I'll be right back. I stand up and make my way to the infirmary.

Once I get to the infirmary, my stomach ach had gotten worse. I go to a nurse and ask for some pain killers. The nurse leaves to get pain killers and I sit on a chair.

As I wait, a doctor comes up to me. She asks, "Are you Micka Stealle?" I look at her and nod. She looks at me sadly and says, "I have bad news... It seems that you have poison in your blood..."

My eyes widen, "P-poison...?"

She nods sadly at me. I look at her for a moment and then look at the ground. "When can you cure me...?" She stays silent for a few seconds and then says, "I'm sorry but... there's no cure..."

My head snaps up to look at her. She says, "Don't worry, we'll find one!" I nod and mumble, "Thank you..."

She gives me a small smile and says, "If you feel any pain just take some pain killers..." then she walks away. I sigh and the nurse comes back with the pain killers. I take them and mumble, "Thank you..." I then walk out of the infirmary and head back to the cafeteria.

I see Maya still sitting in the same spot and got to her, hiding my pain killers behind my back. I'm a step away from the table when suddenly someone grabs the pain killers out of my hand.

I look at the person and scowl slightly when I see Rien looking at the pain killers.

"Give them back"I say and reach for them. He holds them away from me and asks, "Why do you need these?" I bite my lip and tell him, "For my stomach ache..." he looks at me and then nods, "Okay... hope your stomach gets better." He gives them back and then walks away.

I sigh and close my eyes.

"What's wrong?" I hear Maya ask from behind me. I answer, "Nothing..." She lets out a sigh and says, "Don't lie to me... what's wrong...?"

I turn to look at her with sad eyes. I then look at the ground and whisper, "There's poison in my blood... and there's no cure yet..."
