Today I'm publishing two because I forgot one yesterday. I'm actually quite fond of this one, actually. Enjoy!

The first night she was all alone. She was sad, and crying, and just wanted a friend. She looked up at the stars, a perfect view of them from her roof, and made pictures with them until she calmed down. She smiled up at the stars, sending them a silent thank you. She crawled back into her bed for another restless night.

The second night she felt much better. She went for a night walk in the woods, going to a clearing she hadn't been to since she was little. She looked up at the sky through the break in the trees, counting the stars as high up as she could go, over and over, getting better everytime. She took a deep breath, bracing herself to go back home. She said thank you to the stars and headed back for another restless night.

The third night was much the same. She went back to that clearing, this time sitting in one of the bigger trees. She looked through a hole in the branches at the sky, noticing nebulas and galaxies and other pretty things of the like. She lay back in the tree, never feeling more at peace. She said thank you to the stars, this time feeling more ready to go back home. She slipped through her window and into her bed, settling in for another restless night.

The fourth night was different. She had brought a boy she had talked to that day, and decided to show him the clearing. She told him to look up at the sky, and they both did. While she was distracted he destroyed the clearing, and she was powerless to stop him. He left her crying, apologizing to the stars, before going back home and experiencing another restless night.

The fifth night she was desperate. She pleaded and pleaded with the stars for someone true, someone pure, to befriend. Someone that loved the stars just as much as she did. When she thought the stars had listened, she gave them one last 'please' and a 'thank you' in advance. She laid in her bed, another restless night ahead of her.

The sixth night she was surprised. She went back to the clearing, planning on fixing it back again, only to find it almost exactly how it was before. She found a plastic red rose at the bottom of the biggest tree, a note underneath it from the person who had fixed it up for her. She smiled the biggest smile she had in a long time, sending a thank you to the stars for listening to her wishes. She headed back home with a light heart and a restless night ahead.

The seventh night she saw him. He was looking up at the stars, sitting on the ground. He was gorgeous. His eyes shined in the starlight, and she thanked the stars for sending her such a cute companion. She thought about him all night, restless.

The eighth night she sat with him. He was at the clearing again, looking at the stars. She took a deep breath, steeling herself. She walked over and sat next to him, no words spoken, only a silent thank you to the stars. When she got back home she was even more restless than the night before.

The ninth night she talked to him. She sat next to him, and he looked at her, eyes a nice warm brown to contrast with her icy green/blue. She said hi, giving him a shy smile. They ended up talking for hours and hours, never looking away from each other. Before she went to bed she thanked the stars, thinking about their conversation all night, restless.

The tenth night didn't come until years later. The boy and the girl who each loved the stars were on their honeymoon, as in love as the first night they met. They sat on the balcony of their hotel room, cuddling as they looked up at the very things that brought them together in the first place. They thanked the stars in unison before heading inside for a peaceful night's sleep.
