Yugi watches me cautiously as I walk into the living room. His thin arms are wrapped securely around his legs as he rests on the couch. Solomon pats me on the shoulder before leaving the room. The room falls into silence as Yugi and I simply stare at one another. Words fail me as I struggle to think coherently.
"I'm sorry." Yugi murmurs into his knees, eyes cautiously peeking at me through dark lashes. I stare at him in blatant shock, but quickly regain my composure. His all knowing eyes staring into mine for a second before mercifully looking back at his knees. I take a deep breath as I close the space between us, taking a seat beside him on the couch.
The frantic rate of his heart sets something inside of me on edge as it echoes through our bond. I quickly repress it with a breath before turning to look at my little Yugi. His small face is slightly pink as he tries to avoid eye contact, but can't help but sneak a peek at me. I chuckle as I wrap my arm around his shoulders.
"I am the one who should be sorry." I whisper as I pull him close. "Can you forgive me?"
"O-Ofcourse." He stammers into my chest. A bright blush coloring his cheeks.
"I shouldn't have reacted that way...my anger wasn't directed at you." I say gently. Yugi looks up at me curiously. "It is just infuriating to not remember any of those special moments we shared...it is almost like you were with someone else entirely."
Soft lips press against mine, silencing me. The sweet taste of Yugi coats my lips and the smoky scent of incense lingers on his skin. I smile into the kiss as it gradually begins to grow more passionate. Our lips crashing together like ocean waves on the shore.
Love. Love flows through me like a river into Yugi's system. I can tell that he feels my emotions because he shivers against me but kisses me deeper. His addictive lips turning me into a mess that can't do anything but return his attention. My fingers lace themselves through his hair until I have a handful of his hair. Yugi moans lightly as I tug lightly. A small smirk forms on my lips as I tug on his hair and trail my kisses down his neck.
"Yami." He sighs with his sweet voice as I kiss his neck. His small form writhes beside me as I taste his skin. A shiver races through me at his sweet taste and the warmth radiating from his skin. I pause for a moment struggling to regain the small amount of self control I have left. Yugi wraps his arms around my neck pulling me close. I can feel my face begin to glow a bright red as my face is rested against the junction of Yugi's neck and his shoulder. The rapid rush of Yugi's blood beneath his skin makes something inside of me growl in anticipation. The desire to sink my teeth into him, to taste his very essence, is overwhelming.
"Yugi..." I protest as I try to remove my head from his shoulder.
"I missed you." He whispers so softly that I could barely hear him. "I was so afraid without you there with me." He was afraid...he needed me and i wasn't there. Guilt floods my system but the gentle touch of his fingers on my neck soothes me. "But I knew you would want me to be brave. I was brave for you." His thin arms wrap around me tightly. "I held you just like this when you cried, I soothed away your fears when you were frightened...i-" his voice wavers."I even tried to save you when you knew you were to die." Tears splash onto my skin, cooling my feverish skin.
"Yugi." I whisper as I wrap my arms around his waist and pull him close.
"I understand what it was like to be you." He says through his tears. "You have always been there for me. I was thankful for the chance to do that for you." His amethyst eyes look up at me sadly. "I just wish that I could have made more of a difference."
"Shh.." I whisper soothingly as I wipe away his tears. "You have made more of a difference than you know." Silver tears streak down his cheeks as he stares into my eyes. Those beautiful eyes sparkling like gems in the fading sunlight. "You have given me a second chance. It pains me to hear that you don't believe that you have done enough for me." I smile fondly at him. "You have given me more than I could have ever hoped for. You have given me a home and a love." I peck his lips gently. "A husband." I whisper, making him shiver against me. "It may take some time for me to wrap my head around the idea of us being married, but never doubt that I love you."
Yugi smiles up at me with tear filled eyes. "I love you, my Yami."
"And I love you, my Yugi."
