Orange sunlight filters through the stained glass of the church. I can't help but find myself fidgeting up by the front of the church. Joey, Kaiba and Honda are all smirking at my discomfort while Ryou looks upon me with sympathy. I struggle to repress the growl that is threatening to slip past my lips. Why am I so uncomfortable?
Yugi had wanted to wait till sunset so then when the ceremony is completed there will still be some sunlight and the stars will start to begin glowing in the sky. He wanted the moment to be romantic and special. I know that he is doing this so then I have a special memory that I can actually recall, but I can't seem to find my sense of serenity that I usually possess in these kind of moments.
My heart is pounding and my palms are sweating as I stand before this audience in a tuxedo. I breathe deeply and slowly, struggling to maintain my composure.
/"Yugi?"/
/"What is it Yami?"/
/"H-how are you?"/ There is a brief pause before Yugi responds.
/"It's been awhile since I've heard you stammer...are you alright?"/
/"I don't know...I can't seem to find a sense of serenity."/
/"I'll be there in a moment."/ He replies sweetly. /"Just wait for me."/
Kaiba rises from his seat in the pew and comes to stand beside me. I peer at him curiously and he simply smiles at me. The gesture is nostalgic as in my eyes his face melts into Seth's.
"What are you doing?"
"What does it look like I'm doing?" He smirks. "I'm marrying the two of you...just as I did before."
"Did Yugi tell you about that?"
"No," he murmurs with a faint smile. "I remember everything." I stare at him in shock. "Hello Atem." Before I can even think about it I pull him into my arms. Tears stream down my cheeks as Kaiba holds me stunned.
"I'm so sorry Seth." I weep quietly, my shoulders trembling. "I was never worthy of your friendship."
"Oh pharaoh," he whispers softly. "You deserve everything you have earned. The love of Yugi and my friendship, you have earned them both. Never believe that you don't deserve them."
"Seth." I sniffle as I release him.
"The Atem I remember would never cry in front of me." He teases. "It seems that Yugi has healed you."
"Healed me of what?"
"Pretending that you cannot feel pain or remorse." Music begins to play, interrupting my response. "But now is not a time for such emotions. Be happy my pharaoh." I smile in response as my eyes drift towards the door where Yugi stands with Solomon by his side. A bright smile graces my lips at the sight of the two reunited.
This is as it should be. One big happy family standing hand in hand. The pair are smiling ear to ear as they walk down the aisle. Yugi's eyes never stray from mine as a light blush tints his skin. Solomon hands Yugi's hand over to mine and he smiles faintly at me.
"Thank you." I whisper as he takes his seat, giving me a brief nod showing me that he heard.
"We have gathered here today to unite these two men in holy matrimony...that sounds way too formal." Kaiba says sourly. I look at him curiously. "Let's start that over."
"Seth." I hiss. "Stop messing around." Kaiba merely smirks in response before starting over again.
"We have gathered here today not only to unite these two in the act of marriage, but also to acknowledge the history that these two share." Yugi looks up at me with a smile. "They were brought together by what seemed like a twist of fate. Yugi had freed Atem's soul from the darkness that he had wallowed in for centuries and Yami freed Yugi from his fear. The gods had created these two for one another. Even through all of the trials they had been put through, they always returned to one another. Their fates are intertwined." I squeeze Yugi's hand lightly making him giggle quietly.
"The love that they hold for one another is immortal and can never be broken. It gives me great pleasure to be able to marry these two one more time. You may now kiss your husband."
/"Finally."/ I murmur through the link as I cover Yugi's lips with mine. He smiles against my mouth as everyone claps for us.
/"It finally happened."/ Yugi thinks happily.
/"Of Course it did."/ I reply sweetly. /"our fates are intertwined. I will always be by your side and you by mine."/
"I love you Yami." He whispers as we walk back down the aisle.
"I love you too Aibou." I whisper in reply. "Forever and for always."
