Chapter 5: Closer

"Why are you smiling like that? It's creepy.."

"What? Can't I smile.."

Nyle was creeped out by how Andy's smiling since that morning, but at the same time, he kind of felt happy for his best friend.

Although, he never really saw Andy smiled like that before, Nyle felt a more different atmosphere around the guy. In a good way of course.

After school, both of the buddies walked home together.

"So...what happened actually?"

"What do you mean?" ,Andy responded with a denying tone.

"Mmmm...c'moon, are you actually not gonna tell me??"

"Fine..but only a hint"

"Sigh..." ,Nyle glared at him with an upset face.

"Fine, I'll take your...hint"

The corner of Andy's lips was lift,showing a smirk. He hummed until he could think of a clue to give Nyle.

"The girl next door..?"

Nyle's face looked like he was full on thoughts. But after some steps,he halted and gave up.

"What about the girl next door?" ,he turned to Andy but the boy wasn't there. They've already arrived where the two part ways.

"I wonder If she's--" ,he saw Ellie in front of her house gate looking down with a red nose,which was obviously that she cried her way home. Andy walked towards her slowly,
"Ellie ?"

"Cherry's big brother... It's nothing" ,she bit her bottom lip after what she said.

" It's okay...you could tell me what's wrong." ,he leaned in closely causing him to bend down to Ellie's height.

" I tell you what, why don't we walk around the neighbourhood and then you can tell me what happened..okay?" ,Ellie nodded and they both started to walk besides each other.

Ellie haven't said a word since they started their walk, so Andy decided to stop at the nearest park and told her to sit with him on the same bench he sat with her sister the previous day.

"So..you wanna tell me what happened?"

The little girl clenched her fists repeating words in her mind on whether she would trust him..

After a moment, she finally decided.

" It's...my teacher....he told me..to meet him tomorrow..." ,she decided to trust him.

" that's all...I bet he just wants to--"

" I DON'T WANT TO!....I saw two of my classmates that day..I saw them followed him into his car and- and..I never saw them again since then, I can't focus whenever it's his class."

Andy's eyes widened after Ellie mentioned about her friend that are now gone..because of her teacher.
Tears started streaming down the little girl's cheeks, "Im just...scare-d , and I don't know what to do.." ,she continued to sulk.

"Hey..hey it's gonna be okay" ,Andy couldn't believe himself from cheering someone up when he's the one who needs it.

" I'll be there.. " ,The guy said with confidence.

" huh...? "

" Just do what he wanted you to do.."

" But-- "

" I'll be there, don't worry " ,Andy finished their conversation in the park with a smile.

They walked home together without saying anything but with a positive atmosphere ,not like how they walked to the park earlier.

When both of them were in front of their doors, Andy and Ellie turned to each other. The little girl waved to her helpful neighbour with a bright smile, looking by her expression ,Andy felt the same happiness.

"Where are you.." ,his head was reaching out from behind the wall he was hiding. He didn't care about eyes staring at him.

The only thing that mattered was the suspected man who was leaning on his car with a suspicious face that was stared by Andy.

Finally, Ellie was seen walking outside the school gate. Without hesitation, Andy walked towards to her quickly and also inauspiciously. Also does the suspicious man,walking straight to the little girl.

" Hello, Ellie I've been waiting for--"

" Hey..c'mon lets go" ,Andy's interruption made the suspicious man halted and gaze at him.

Ellie, looked down as if the world was upside down ,and continued to walk towards Andy like her teacher wasn't even there.

"Is that him?" ,Andy silently asked the little girl ,also trying to look not suspicious.

Ellie slightly nodded with an unpleasant look on her face, which confirmed Andy that her teacher was going to do something an educator shouldn't do to their students. Especially little girls.

While they were walking on the way to their homes, Andy felt something odd.
He purposely turned to his left and eventually ,A red Mercedes that had the same colour as Ellie's teacher did was following them.

Andy grabbed the little girl's hand and walked into an alley.

" C'mon.. "

Just when they merely got out the other side, the Mercedes harshly braked which hit Andy's leg a little but the pain wasn't even close to as it seems.

" Ghh! "

Ellie felt terrified than she ever was. Her teacher ,Mr. Gabe walked out of the Mercedes with a furious face.

" Who are you?! " ,Mr. Gabe dragged the injured boy against the wall by choking him.

" Ellie~ ,GET IN THE CAR! "

"Noo~" ,Ellie protested with tears racing down her cheeks.

Mr. Gabe was even more violent than Andy expected. He couldn't comprehend the pressure on his neck which made his face red as the Mercedes. He wondered how he got into this mess ,furthermore why he even bothered to get involved in anyone's problem.

His vision was fading out also was his hearing, because the little girl was too weak to stop a tall, big and a violent man like Gabe is.

" Crack!! " ,A sound of wood cracking and suddenly Andy's neck was let free.

His vision was blurry so he couldn't see anything. He only caught a blurry glimpse of something yellow.. but pale ,before he fainted.

While Andy was out, he somehow could still feel that his body was carried somewhere. He slightly opened his eyes and saw bright lights passing by, The boy wondered if he really was in the light or was he somewhere else before fainting again.
